What are Frenzied Monsters?

Monsters Infected by the Frenzy Virus

Monsters Infected by the Frenzy Virus
Frenzied Monsters are large monsters infected by the Frenzy Virus caused by scales and breath of Gore Magala. Afflicted monsters only appear in High Rank and boast higher strength and speed, as well as increased aggression that causes them to attack in a frenzied manner.

Frenzied Monsters can infect your hunter with the Frenzy Virus which not only increases the damage taken from their attacks, but also prevents you from naturally healing outside of using healing items!

Frenzy-Immune Monsters

There are currently three monsters that don't have Frenzied Versions. Zoh Shia is unavailable in High Rank and currently does not possess a Frenzied version as these variants are restricted to High Rank.

Gore Magala is the source of the Frenzy Virus and is thus immune to its effects, though it can inflict the condition to other monsters and hunters.

Finally and despite not being an Elder Dragon, Arkveld possesses an uncanny immunity to the Frenzy Virus.
