Whiteflame Torrent is a Weapon Skill that deals an additional 50 damage in Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds). Learn the effects of Whiteflame Torrent, how it activates, and a list of weapons with the Whiteflame Torrent skill.

Whiteflame Torrent Skill Effect
Whiteflame Torrent Deals 50 Extra Damage
Whiteflame Torrent deals an extra 50 fixed damage at a random chance, unaffected by any form of resistance (even on deflects), when attacking with a three second cooldown before it can activate again. Based on our testing, the damage is fixed for all weapons no matter where it hits any target.
If a monster is currently mounted by a hunter, that monster receives lesser damage from Whiteflame Torrent (usually 15 damage instead of 50) – in line with the overall damage reduction caused by mounts.
Additionally, the skill will only activate when using certain weapon moves, similar to how Flayer works.
Extra Damage With Scorcher

Scorcher is the Rathalos set bonus skill, and it works similarly as it randomly triggers additional fire damage. When used with Whiteflame Torrent, the total extra damage is higher as the skill also provides additional fire damage. Unlike Whiteflame Torrent, the extra damage from Scorcher can be reduced depending on where it hits.

When Whiteflame Torrent is paired with Scorcher, it appears that the fixed damage also increases with the level. It also significantly increases the Fire portion of the damage.
Weapon Moves Unaffected by Whiteflame Torrent
In a similar behavior to Flayer, most normal attacks from weapons are counted towards activating Whiteflame Torrent's effect. This doesn't include certain special attacks or most Focus Strikes.
