Seregios and its Extra Mission, Clear with a Chance of Sandstorm, will be unlocked after reaching HR31 and finishing the Main Mission A World Turned Upside Down.
A World Turned Upside Down Mission Walkthrough
Completing Seregios' Extra Mission, Clear with a Chance of Sandstorm, will grant you access to hunting its regular and tempered variant.
Do note that since Tempered Seregios is a Difficulty 8★ monster, it will only start spawning once you've completed the HR40 Assignment, What Lies Ahead. Getting past this assignment allows you to get to HR41+.
What Lies Ahead Mission Walkthrough

A way to spawn Seregios and Tempered Seregios is to head over to Iceshard Cliffs and rest in a tent. Set the time to Morning and the weather to Inclemency. Afterwards, check the map if a Seregios has spawned. While not guaranteed everytime, there is a slight chance that doing this can spawn a Seregios or Tempered Seregios.

You may use this method as an opportunity to farm for Seregios and Tempered Seregios investigations. If you're lucky, one could appear with the Seregios Dissenter as a guaranteed reward!

Seregios can inflict Bleeding on hunters. If your Bleed Resistance is low, make sure to bring consumables that can cure Bleeding. It's recommended to bring Wild Jerky or Rations as they are the easiest to get and fastest to consume for Bleeding. Sushifish Scales and Great Sushifish Scales are also great alternatives as they can cure Bleeding and heal at the same time.
Before hunting, make sure to always bring Mega Potions and materials to craft them with. Traps, and mantles can also help your hunt go much smoother.

When you get grabbed by Seregios, you can escape the onslaught of its grab attack by shooting Slinger Ammo at it. If there are other hunters with you, they may also help you out of it by using their own Slinger Ammo or by staggering Seregios.
If you want to knock it out from the air, use a Flash Pod in front of it. It will temporarily blind it and bring it down for you to deal decent damage to it.
How to Take Down and Hit Flying Monsters
After doing specific attacks, Seregios' leg becomes a Weak Point. After it does its Plunge attack, check if one of its legs glows red in Focus Mode. If it does, Focus Strike it to stagger Seregios and possibly knock it over.
Another attack that exposes the Weak Point on its legs is the Aerial Swipe Kicks. While not always guaranteed, periodically check in Focus Mode if the Weak Point appears during these attacks.
How to Use Focus Mode and Focus Strike
Seregios has attacks that utilizes its head and tail to fling sharp scales at you. These scales can inflict Bleeding to anyone caught in them. Breaking its head and tail can reduce the amount of scales it flings at you.
Seregios is relentless with its constant attacks and frequent repositioning. One way to even out the odds is to utilize Offset Attacks and Power Clashes. This gives way to counteract Seregios' flurry of attacks and use it against the monster.
Seregios will sometimes visit Area 5 in the Windward Plains. This area has three environment traps called Sharp Crystal Pillars. When Seregios is underneath them, trigger the pillars with your Slinger to knock the monster down and deal huge damage.
How to Set and Activate Traps
Seregios can inflict Bleeding with some of its attacks. If your Bleeding Resistance is low, make sure to bring Wild Jerky and/or Rations to quickly cleanse the status ailment.
Sushifish Scales and Great Sushifish Scales are also great alternatives as they can cure Bleeding and heal at the same time. Although getting these scales require you to catch their respective fish, the Sushifish.
Moves labeled with a shield icon indicate that you can trigger a Power Clash with them. On the other hand, moves labeled with a sword icon indicate that you can counter them with an Offset Attack.
| Attack | Description |
|---|---|
| Plunge | After spinning high in the air, Seregios will quickly plunge down to your position. Run to the side as soon as you see it spin or dodge right before it hits you. |
| Aerial Swipe Kicks |
Seregios will swipe both its claws at you while in the air. Dodge toward or away from the monster once you see it rear both of its claws up. |
| Claw Dive Landing | When in the air, Seregios can hone in and dive towards you, claws first. When you see it twirl midair and hoist its feet up, dodge to the side to avoid the dive attack. |
| Curve Swoop |
Seregios will fly high into the air before swooping down on you, curving to the side. It will attempt to hit you with its claw. Dodge forward or backward as soon as you see the monster curve to your position. |
| Hop |
Turned to its side, Seregios will hop into the air before crashing its claws toward you. It can do this twice in a row. Dodge to the side once it hops into the air. |
| Swoop Landing | Mid-flight, Seregios will swoop down towards you and attempt to land on you. Dodge to the side of this attack to avoid getting hit. |
| Head Scale Shake | Seregios will shake its head to throw its scales at you. Dodge sideways everytime it shakes its head to avoid getting the Bleeding ailment. |
| Tail Scale Fling | While flying, Seregios will swing its tail to fling scales at you. Time your dodge towards the monster to avoid getting the Bleeding ailment. |
| Tail Swipe Flight | Seregios will swipe its tail at you and use it as momentum to swing its body up for immediate flight. This move sets Seregios up to do quick follow-up attacks. Dodge outward from the initial tail swipe and watch out for any follow-up attacks once it's in the air. |
| Small Monster Throw | When in the vicinity of Small Monsters, Seregios can pick one up and chuck it at you. Dodge sideways from the throw. |
| Claw Trampling Grab Attack | Seregios will trap you under it and trample you with its claws. When grabbed, you can escape by using Slinger Ammo at it. |

If Seregios grabs and pins you down you can escape from it even without a flash pod. You can roll to the side when it's trampling on you - note that you will likely take some damage tho. But it's a good-to-know to save your flashes or avoid over-flashing it (which results in lower flash effectiveness).
