| 3 | Greatly extends evasion distance. | ||||||||||
Evade Extender increases the distance of your dodges per level. This includes dodge or evasion-based moves from various weapon types such as:
| Evade Extender | Dodge Roll Distance to Dummy |
|---|---|
| No Skill | 4 dodges before contact |
| Lv. 1 | 3, 1/2 dodges before contact |
| Lv. 2 | 3, 1/4 dodges before contact (almost touching dummy) |
| Lv. 3 | 3 dodges before contact |
| Additional Note: The travel speed from point A to B in a dodge is also faster the greater the distance. Dodge animation speed itself, on other hand, is unaffected. | |
Above tests are done by measuring the amount of rolls needed from the Equipment Box to the Target Dummy in the Training Area.
Evade Extender simply increases the distance of your dodges while Evade Window increases your dodge invulnerability frames (or I-frames). Their effects can stack (you can maintain the same amount of I-frames over larger distances), though they are most often overkill when both are at max level.
The benefit of Evade Extender is that regardless of whether you have Evade Window or not, it is must easier to escape away from attacks that cover large areas (often attacks like 180 tail swipes from Rathian or the underside slam of Nu Udra.)
Evade Window, on the other hand, makes it easier to dodge through attacks since they increase your I-frames instead. They're useful in cases where you plan to dodge towards the enemies, and in cases where you will have to dodge an attack that you cannot simply escape the area of.
| Lance (Sidesteps) |
|---|
Dodge distance becomes less noticeable at higher levels when using guard weapons like the Lance. In this case, the preferred subistitute or supplementing skill is Evade Window. |
| Bow (Charging Sidestep) |
Evade Extender on the Bow makes it a very comfortable weapon to dodge with due to the amount distance it covers during a Charging Sidestep. |
| Hammer (Charged Step) |
Evade Extender also makes 'offensive' dodge moves like Charged Step on the Hammer much more comfortable to use due to the distance covered when using it as a gap-closer. |
Know that the amount of distance covered per level is subject to your preference, so you do not really need to max Evader Extender out to get the most value. You will want to test each level first to find the right amount of distance that you don't overshoot or fall short of your dodges.

Maannn Evade Extender in Wilds is nerfed so hard, around 10% each level, it feels pointless. The normal rolling dodge is about 5 meters reach, and with Lv3 Evade Extender you only get like 6.5 meters. As comparison, Rise gave you like as twice as normal with Lv3, around 10 meters reach. They could use the middle ground like make it be 8 meters, that would be nice right? But then again Wilds is already too easy, maybe it's for the better. I dunno.
