Follow Erik
| 1 |  After speaking to Erik in Erik's Secret Request, the two of you will discuss with people from other villagers about a rampaging Rathalos. ▶ Erik's Secret Request Walkthrough |

| 2 |  The two of you will then head out into the Scarlet Forest to investigate the recent happenings. |
Examine the Rathalos Traces
| 1 |  Once you reach the deeper part of the forest, you will locate Rathalos tracks. |

Follow the Rathalos Traces
| 1 |  Erik will suggest that you follow the Rathalos tracks. Proceed further and follow Erik. |

Examine the Nearby Traces
| 1 |  You will then come across scorch mark left by the Rathalos that you are tracking. |

| 2 |  Follow the Scoutflies to find other Rathalos tracks. Erik will hypothesize that the Rathalos seems to be fighting with another monster. |
Examine the Electrocuted Dalthydon
| 1 |  Further on, Erik will spot an electrocuted Dalthydon, which is unusual as there are no monsters in the area that has thunder properties. |

| 2 |  An agitated Rathalos with then show up out of nowhere, but it will then be confronted by a Lagiacrus! |
| 3 |  The Rathalos will fly away and the Lagiacrus will stand stall. Erik will remark that the monster should not appear in the forest. |
| 4 |  Erik will exclaim about the Scarlet Forest's diversity, but laments that leaving Lagiacrus alive will mess with the ecosystem. |
| 5 |  Your hunter suggests that you can instead capture Lagiacrus instead of slaying it, as this will help with Erik's research and keep the Lagiacrus alive. |
Capture the Lagicarus
| 1 |  Erik will give an official order for you to capture the Lagiacrus, and the Tremors on Land, Sea, and Forest Assignment Quest will begin! ▶ Capture Lagiacrus |

| 2 |  As you go through the quest, Lagiacrus will lead you to Area 19, which is a new section of the Scarlet Forest that was added in Title Update 2. This area serves as its nest, and it will dive down during the fight and you will be able to fight it underwater! ▶ Underwater Combat Guide |
| 3 |  Once Lagiacrus slows down and is near death, be careful not to deal more damage as you need to capture the monster and not slay it. If you were not able to bring items to capture the monster, supply items will be provided by Erik once Lagiacrus is capture-ready. ▶ How to Capture Monsters |
| 4 |  After capturing Lagiacrus, Erik and the villagers will discuss about what happened. Erik surmises that Lagiacrus might have visited the forest as it is nutrient-rich, which agitated Rathalos. |
| 5 |  After the discussions, Erik will talk to you and ask if you want to let him be your handler during quests. |

Unlock Erik as Your Handler
Completing this mission will unlock the ability to bring Erik as your Handler during quests, replacing Alma's role. To do so, simply find him in the Scarlet Forest base camp.
How to Change and Unlock Handlers
Unlock Tempered Lagiacrus
Upon finishing this extra mission, an 8★ Tempered version of Lagiacrus will start to show up in the environment overview. Take note that you must be HR41 and above for the Tempered Lagiacrus to start spawning.
To reach HR41, you must first complete the mission What Lies Ahead.
How to Unlock Trembling Blue Currents
Unlocks After Erik's Secret Request
This extra mission will be unlocked after progressing through the previous quest, Erik's Secret Request.
