Additionally, the four quests listed above are now permanently available. This allows the players to access these quests whenever they need armor spheres without the need to wait for an in game event.

Helps stun monsters temporarily. Helps bring down Rathalos from the air. |
Endless Sky, Endless Sea is the best quest to farm armor spheres since it can give you a full 7-stack line of Hard Armor Spheres and 1 stack of Heavy Armor Spheres. We recommend you bring a Fire weapon for Lagiacrus and a Dragon weapon for Rathalos.
Alternatively, you may also opt for a status weapon. In this case, Paralysis is the best for momentarily immobilizing monsters, giving you a large window for attack combos.
Alternatively, if you want a fast Armor Sphere farm, the Tongue-Tied event quest is still a great choice to farm Armor Spheres, especially in the early-game, since the target monster (Chatacabra) is easy to deal with and the HR requirement isn't too far.
Event Quests Schedule and Release Date

The best way to farm Armor Spheres is to recycle monster materials into Armor Spheres in the Smelting Foundry in Azuz at the Oilwell Basin.
As you go through the game and raise your HR in High Rank, you'll gather a lot of monster materials as you complete hunts and quests. You won't need all of these items sitting idle in your inventory, so you can use them as fodder to smelt Armor Spheres.

Smelting points above are based on their common materials excluding gems/rare materials.
Above monsters will net the most Smelting Points per part. Usually, you'll want to focus smelting only common parts: parts that don't have a low drop chance like gems. Low-drops are more valuable to save for crafting armor pieces and using them for Armor Transcendence.
Arkveld
|
| Repeatable Quest:
・The Chains of Life |
Arkveld is the go-to High Rank monster for farming profitable materials since release if you are not farming other monsters, netting the usual 120 smelting points per part excluding rares. This is in part due to his moveset being easier to read than others like Gore Magala, and isn't a lengthy fight compared to other monsters like Gogmazios and Omega Planetes.
Lagiacrus
|
Seregios
|
| Repeatable Quests:
・Lagiacrus: The Sea-Born Lord ・Seregios: 1,000 Shimmering Swords |
|
If you are not after Arkveld, Seregios and Lagiacrus parts still net a good amount of smelting points, usually 110-120 smelting points excluding rares, without being a lengthy fight like Jin Dahaad. Both monsters have repeatable optional quests, namely the The Sea-Born Lord and 1,000 Shimmering Swords.

Rare gems, plates, and other monster materials are valuable items that are worth a lot of smelting points. But do note that they crucial for crafting certain weapons and armor, and even being used materials for Armor Transcendence. If you've been accumulating and farming materials for a long while, they're good okay options for smelting.

Along with the Ver. 1.021 Update came the appearance of 9-star difficulty monsters. These endgame hunts are much more difficult than the usual hunts as the monsters will always spawn as Tempered and their health and damage are increased. 9-star monsters can spawn in all locales once you're HR100 or above.
While the main reward for these hunts are Glowing Stones, they can also reward a decent amount of higher-value Armor Spheres, like Hard Armor Spheres and Heavy Armor Spheres.

Heavy Armor Sphere obtained from a Limited Bounty quest.
You can get high ranking Armor Spheres such as Heavy Armor Spheres by completing Limited Bounty quests. They cannot be farmed consistently but they provide a huge surge of Hard Armor Spheres, so be sure to complete them when able!
Be warned that Limited Bounty quests will not appear when playing in offline mode.
Bounties and Research Help Explained

High-level Investigations, especially 7 and 8-star difficulty ones, will sometimes give rarer Armor Spheres as rewards. If you're farming for Decorations or Artian Weapon parts, you can naturally farm Armor Spheres as you complete these hunts.
| Armor Sphere | Investigation Difficulty |
|---|---|
| ★4-5 Investigations | |
| ★6-9 Investigations | |
| ★7-9 Investigations |
Main Missions, Side Missions, and Extra Missions can naturally provide Armor Spheres and is a great way to passively farm for them. You can tackle quests with your desired monsters as well to gain missing materials to craft missing armor or weapon pieces to complete your build.
You can also aid other hunters by doing Lobby Member Quests if you're in a public lobby or SOS quests if you wanna help other hunters in different lobbies!

You can also trade materials with Gawdygog, but you'll need to trade using Ancient Wyvern Coins. These coins are rare and difficult to farm for. This makes this method inefficient as a farming method for Armor Spheres.

Lastly, you can also obtain Armor Spheres by logging in daily, which is a decent boost to start your hunting session whenever you login.

The Smelting Foundry can be unlocked after defeating Nu Udra for the first time in Chapter 2-4, Long-Forgotten Flame. Once done, you'll be able to unlock the refinery and smelt your materials for Armor Spheres.
Long-Forgotten Flame Mission Walkthrough

Proceed to the Oilwell Basin after completing Chapter 2-4 and head to the Smelting Foundry which is found near the base camp.

After reaching the Smelting Foundry, interact with the refinery and spend the materials you want to consume and convert them to Armor Spheres!
