Sinister Cloth From Murtabak

Item Description
Sinister ClothSinister Cloth Suspicious cloth found somewhere in the Windward Plains. Drips with an aura of pure evil.

Sinister Cloth can be acquired from Material Retrieval with Murtabak, who becomes available for this function upon completing the Beware the Gypceros quest in Chapter 4.

Material Retrieval allows players to have NPCs gather a chosen item, which can be collected from Nata after a while. During retrieval, there is a chance for special items to be collected, such as the Sinister Cloth.

Acquire Sinister Cloth From Gawdygog or Kilama

Character Location
Kilama Kunafa, Windsong Village in Windward Plains
Gawdygog Wudwud Hideout in Scarlet Forest

Sinister Cloth can be acquired through trades with Gawdygog and Kilama. However, note that trader inventory rotates daily in-game, so try rechecking at a later time or resting first if the item you're looking for doesn't show.

You Need Great Windward Aloe or Ancient Wyvern Coins

You need to trade 10 Ancient Wyvern Coins with Gawdygog or one Great Windward Aloe with Kilama to receive one Sinister Cloth. Trading Great Windward Aloe with Kilama appears to be the more efficient way to farm Sinister Cloths.

Keep in mind that there is a Trade Limit when exchanging with traders, so you will have to return once their stock refreshes to trade for Sinister Cloths again.

How to Get and Use Sinister Cloth

Forged at the Smithy

Gemma Smithy.png

Once you've obtained a Sinister Cloth, Death Stench Armor will become an option for forging at the blacksmith. Like other pieces of armor, you will need some zenny to pay the blacksmith for her services.

You will also need other materials like Wingdrake Hide+, Quality Bone, Colossal Bone, and Herbivore Carapace depending on which piece you want to forge.
