The second phase of the second Open Beta began on February 13, 2025 at 7 PM PT and continued until February 17, 2025 at 6:59 PM PT. This was available for PS5, Xbox X|S, and Steam and was extended for a day due to the PSN outage from the first phase.

Due to the PSN outage that many players experienced during the previous Beta Test, they announced that the second schedule for Open Beta 2 is extended for an additional day up to February 17, 2025 6:59 PM PT.

How to Participate in Open Beta 2
Get Access to a PS5, Xbox X|S, or PC
You can participate in Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 as long as you have a PS5, Xbox Series X or S, or a PC. As long as you have access to these consoles, you can participate in the second Open Beta for free!
Internet Connection Required
You will also need to be connected to the Internet to participate in the second Open Beta. An Internet connection is required as the open beta will have online features, similar to the first open beta.
PS Plus or Xbox Gamepass Not Needed
Unlike the first open beta, you won't need to subscribe to PS Plus or Xbox Gamepass to participate in the second Open Beta. You will only need a PS or Microsoft account, a console, and an internet connection to join the open beta.
Pre-Order is Not Required
Pre-ordering Monster Hunter Wilds or any of its editions is also not required in order to participate in the second Open Beta. Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 is free for all players to test.

Monsters that are available to be hunted in the second open beta are Arkveld, Gypceros, and Doshaguma. A new training area is also available in the base camp.
Other features from the first open beta are also included such as character creation, story trial, and crossplay.

There are 4 Large Monsters that you can hunt during the first beta. The Arkveld hunt is a special advanced quest that is quite difficult.
Arkveld and Gypceros Hunts
The flagship monster Arkveld and a returning monster Gypceros are to hunt in the second open beta.
Note that the Arkveld hunt is a special Advanced Quest which is significantly more challenging than ordinary hunts.
Previous Open Beta Features
Features from the first open beta are returning, including Character Creation, the Doshaguma hunt, and the Story Trial where you fight the Chatacabra.
Characters created during this period will carry over to the full game, while progress in the story trial will not.
Training Area in the Base Camp
A training area is accessible to players in the base camp. This allows players to familiarize themselves with and practice weapon movesets against a training dummy.
Multiplayer Features
The second open beta test features crossplay multiplayer, allowing players from different platforms to hunt monsters together.
Private lobbies and an online single player mode are also available during this period.

Weapon Adjustments Will Not be Included
Although numerous weapon adjustments were announced during the pre-launch community update, they will not be part of the second Open Beta.
