After completing the Purrfect Plundering Side Mission, you'll gain access to the Plunderang but when the hunter asks the Palico of this new technique, the palico mentions hearing it from The New World which is the main region that Monster Hunter World and Iceborn is set at.

The in-game description for the Endemic Life Sparklerjellies notes that its known frequent locale is Coral Highlands, a direct reference to the region in Monster Hunter: World. Somehow, these creatures have made their way from the New World to the depths of Oilwell Basin!
