Dark Arts Effects
Dark Arts works similarly to Resentment, but increases elemental attack by 20% with red health. Its second effect also applies to all Great Swords, giving them an extra shockwave that deals additional damage when using Level 3 charges (except for the Charged/Offset Rising Slash). This shockwave also slightly extends beyond the range of the Great Sword.
The Blackest Night Effects
Edge of Shadow
The Blackest Night can be used from the item bar or the radial menu if you have 4 pieces of Bale armor equipped. This action consumes health to create a shield. This also has a cooldown of around 70 seconds.
Pressing Triangle/Y (or Left Click on PC) while the shield is up will follow up with an attack called Edge of Shadow. It can also trigger once the barrier expires.
Eventide and Undead Redemption
If an enemy destroys the barrier, it will unleash Eventide instead. This is a stronger attack and converts your entire health gauge to red health.
While Eventide is used, you'll gain a buff called Undead Redemption for 30 seconds. This prevents your red health from dropping even when hit by an attack, and doubles your base defense (before buffs). Attacking monsters with this buff active also restores your HP.
