Camps are facilities you can fast travel to and enter to manage items, change equipment, and more. Towns are special as they contain several more NPCs where you can buy items or upgrade gear.

Pop-up camps are mobile camps you can build around the locale with a maximum of four at a time. These camps, if spotted by an agitated monster can be destroyed. The safer the location is, the less likely this is to happen.

Scarlet Forest is filled with dense foliage and vibrant bodies of water. This location suffers from extreme Downpour that floods the region in a devastating storm. The Wudwuds are a unique Lynian tribe that have adapted to the Scarlet Forest and the extreme weather in this location.

How to Unlock the Scarlet Forest

Complete Chapter 1-3

Completing “To the Forest” in Chapter 1 grants your Hunter access into the Scarlet Forest. While initially you cannot access the full map when you enter, completing the mission and hunting Doshaguma will allow you to freely explore the forest.

Chapter 1 Walkthrough

Scarlet Forest Farming Routes

Ore and Bone Route

There are 10 Mining Outcrops and 9 Bonepiles in the Scarlet Forest. Follow these steps to efficiently collect all of these spots:

1. Start from the Flowering Rocks Pop-Up Camp or Base Camp and get the Bonepiles in the Lala Barina nest. Continue to go through Areas 6, 10, and 13 for the other nodes.
2. Fast Travel to the Underground Lake Pop-Up camp to get all the nearby Mining Outcrops and the one in Area 12.
3. Fast Travel to the Great Lake Shore, Ruin Interior, or Hidden Waterfall Pop-Up Camps and grab the Bonepiles in the surrounding area.

Remember to use the Geologist skill to maximize the yield of your farming runs and do them while there are Bonepile or Mining Outcrop Upsurges.

Scarlet Forest Secret Areas

Area 6 Diving Spot

This hidden diving spot can be found near where your pop-up tent would be located. Look for the small cave where you would normally fish.

Diving from this spot will just take you around the area. There will be a Wudwud fishing there but there's generally nothing here except Glass Algae and a few fish.

Area 8 Diving Spot

The diving spot in Area 8 is located near your pop-up tent. Sometimes there would be Wudwuds fishing in front of the diving spot.

Diving from this area will take you to a small secluded section where you can also fish for Goldenfish and Platinumfish. You can also use your Slinger to get some Beautiful Aquatica.

Area 12 Diving Spot

The diving spot in Area 12 is located past the waterfalls northwest of where your pop-up tent would be located.

Diving near Area 12 will take you to an isolated ruins area where you can get Weathered Treasure. You also have a chance of spotting Uth Duna here when it spawns in the forest.

Scarlet Forest Environment and Weather

Environmental Traps

Trap	Details
Entangled Rocks	A mass of rocky rubble, held aloft by old and rotting vines and branches. A strong blow could cause it to crash down.
Unstable Rubble	Rubble that can be knocked down with an impact. If it hits a monster in the waterway below, the shock will cause it to surface.
Dark Hornet Nest	A hive build by fiercely territorial Dark Hornets.

Other Environmental Interactables

Trap	Details
Brush	An area covered in tall grass that can conceal a crouching hunter from sight.
Sporepuff	A plant laden with spores. Strike it to release a dense cloud that can be used to hide a hunter from sight.
Weathered Ruins	The unstable remains of some aged structure. Ravaged by time, a strong impact would likely bring it to the ground.
Loch Ruins	The unstable remains of some aged structure. A sharp tug from the Hook Slinger could bring it down on unsuspecting foes.
Dam Rubble	A mass of rubble and drift wood accumulated atop the dam. A sharp tug from the Hook Slinger should send it cascading over the falls.

The Wudwud Hideout serves as home to the unique species of Lynians called Wudwuds. Chomber only appears at night during the season of Plenty along with other Wudwuds to celebrate a bonfire feast.

Musharpeye and Gawdygog are the traders in the Scarlet Forest found inside the Wudwud Hideout. Each trader will ask for a specific item. Use your map to filter to these Special Items, some will only recur on emergence so check the Environment Overview from time to time.

Their wares will change every day, you can always check in with Nata in the Base Camp of any locale you are currently in.
