MH Wilds - How to Separate Monster Herds
Some monsters hunt in herds and you'll need to separate them if you want to hunt a single one in Monster Hunter Wilds. Check out how to separate group of monster and what monster herds are here.

How to Separate Monster Herds

Use a Large Dung Bomb

If you want to separate a large herd of monsters, then you'll need to fire off a Large Dung Bomb into the group. Make sure to fire it off in the center so that you can hit all the monsters and cause them to disperse into different areas.

Use Dung Bombs to Separate a Single Monster

You can also use a regular Dung Bomb if you wish, but it will only cause the monster that was hit to change areas instead of dispersing the entire herd.

Fire a Luring Pod

Aside from Dung Pods, you can also use Luring Pods to get the attention of one monster, preferably the one you're hunting, and take it away from the rest of the herd.

What Are Monster Herds?

Group of Monsters Led by an Alpha

Monster Herds is a new feature being introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds, where similar monsters group up and travel by pack. These herds are usually headed by an Alpha monster, which can be distinguished through its larger structure and more powerful attacks.
