Speed Sharpening is a Weapon Skill in Monster Hunter Wilds. Learn the effects of Speed Sharpening and see a list of weapons and decorations with the Speed Sharpening skill.

Skill Effects Per Level

Speed Sharpening Skill
Speeds up weapon sharpening when using a whetstone.
Level Effect
1 Removes one cycle from the sharpening process.
2 Removes two cycles from the sharpening process.

Speeds Up Weapon Sharpening with Whetstone

Speed Sharpening speeds up weapon sharpening by removing up to two cycles from the sharpening animation when using a Whetstone. Additionally, the fewer cycles there are in the animation, the more sharpness each cycle recovers.

It's important to note, however, that the total sharpness recovery after going through the entire sharpening animation remains constant throughout all levels. This skill also does not work with alternate methods of sharpening such as the Whetfish Fin.
