The Yian Kut-Ku is a fan favorite that will be returning after being absent for multiple generations.
The Yian Kut-Ku's return is remarkable as it is considered the first significant challenge that veterans of the series encountered.

The Rathalos is also part of the roster of monsters as confirmed in the announcement trailer. It has almost become a tradition that the Rathalos appears in all iterations of the game.

The timid Bird Wyvern Gypceros is another returning monsters, employing the same tactics against hunters including faking its death to catch unsuspecting foes!

The Fanged Beast Blangonga will make a return in Monster Hunter Wilds, this time making its home in the Iceshard Cliffs.

Rathian is another returning monster revealed in the Launch trailer. Much like its mate, Rathalos, it's a tradition for the "Queen of the Land" to appear in both mainline and spin-off games.

Mizutsune, the iconic Bubbleblight-inflicting Leviathan previously in Monster Hunter: Rise, makes a return in Title Update 1. It resides in the Scarlet Forest and Ruins of Wyveria, and becomes accessible once you complete Spirit in the Moonlight.
