Are There Elder Dragons In Game?
Gogmazios in Title Update 4
Gogmazios, a returning Elder Dragon from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, marks its re-entry in Title Update 4 which is expected to release in December 2025. This will be this game's first formal introduction to an Elder Dragon.
We can expect Gogmazios's habitat to be in Oilwell Basin given its characteristics. How it will navigate its arena is yet to be known since its size may be comparable to that of Jin Dahaad or even bigger.
No Other Elder Dragons on Release
Before Gogmazios, there were technically no Elder Dragons in Monster Hunter Wilds. Arkveld, the game's flagship monster, is not categorized as an Elder Dragon, and Zoh Shia, though having similar properties to an Elder Dragon, is classifed as a Construct.
Gore Magala is In the Game
The iconic Gore Magala is in Monster Hunter Wilds. While not an Elder Dragon itself, it is known to transform into the Elder Dragon Shagaru Magala. However, Shagaru Magalu itself is not in the game on release.
Gore Magala Weakness and Drops
Major Focus is on Apex Monsters
While there is only one known Elder Dragon coming to the game for now in Title Update 4, the biggest threats so far are represented by Apex Monsters, such as Rey Dau and Uth Duna. They are not classified as Elder Dragons but are powerful regardless.
