This whopper can be mostly seen at Morning when the weather is Plenty, and is common at Area 17 in the Scarlet Forest. Note that you may have to wait for the Tuna to spawn in when going for the Plenty and Morning weather combination in Area 17. They seem to have a strong interest in Tuff Joint Bait.

Alternatively, players may look for Gastronome Tuna in Area 12. Setting your Weather to Inclemency and the time to Daytime or Night will greatly increase your chances of finding a Gastronome Tuna in Area 12.

How to Catch Gastronome Tuna

Use the Fishing Rod

Since the Gastronome Tuna is considered as a whopper, you will not be able to catch it by using the Capture Net. The only way to catch this enormous fish is by using your Fishing Rod!

Added Difficulty When Catching a Whopper

Whoppers are more challenging to catch compared to catching a regular fish. You have to tire it out before reeling it in, all the while trying your best to not let it snap your fishing line. Pulling against the direction of the fish too much will snap your line and you will lose the fish.

The Gastronome Tuna is easily attracted by using the Tuff Joint Bait. You will receive this bait from Kanya when starting the The Catch of a Lifetime mission.

The Tuna will also more likely bite your bait if you slowly reel in your line near its vicinity.

Plenty in the MORNING is a much better time I think, spent all night fishing to open spawns and waiting, never had one show up. As soon as it became morning I had 3 spawn.
