Once Uth Duna Dives in deep waters in Area 17, use the Loch Ruins as a Falling Boulder trap on it. This not only cancels Uth Duna's Wave Call Attack, it also deals damage to the monster and pulls it out of the water, making it open for attacks!
Uth Duna's weak spot becomes available after it does its Twist Dive attack. Use Focus Strike on Uth Duna's head after this attack for a chance to topple Uth Duna.
Remember that in High Rank, this move no longer gives a guaranteed topple.
How to Use Focus Mode and Focus Strike
The Dam Rubble in Area 15 deals huge damage against Uth Duna, allowing you to further speed up your hunt. You can make use of Pitfall Traps or Shock Traps to ensure the boulders hit Uth Duna.
Make sure you attack Uth Duna's water veil when its spread out as it takes less damage from attacks when this is active.
Once the veil is dispelled, focus on hitting its forelegs next, taking care to avoid its lunges and body slams.
Nulberries are important as Uth Duna has access to water-based attacks that can inflict Waterblight which drastically lessens your stamina recovery speed. Nulberries instantly remove the effects of Waterblight, allowing you to hunt without the debuff.
| Attack | Description |

| Body Coil | Uth Duna twists its body and uses its tail to hit you. Move away from Uth Duna's body to avoid any damage. |
| Arm Swipe | Uth Duna uses its arm to swipe away at any hunters in front. Take advantage of this attack by dodging backwards once you see Uth Duna prepare its arm, then attack again after the monster performs this move. |
| Charge | Uth Duna sprints forward, dragging any hunter caught in its charge. Run sideways to avoid the continuous hitboxes of this move. Alternatively you can use Perfect Guard to initiate a Power Clash. |
| Bite | Uth Duna bites towards your direction. Use this opening to dodge forward and attack its forelegs. |
