Armor Transcending Guide

This is a guide on Transcending Armor pieces in Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds). Read on to see what transcending does, the new max armor cap, how new armor slots work, and the required materials to transcend your armor!

What Does Armor Transcending Do?

Raises Max Armor Defense

If you transcend an armor piece, its maximum defense will increase since transcending adds more upgrade levels to the armor piece. This also means that you'll need additional Armor Spheres to reach the new max defense cap.

Best Ways to Farm Armor Spheres

Transcend Rarity 6

Transcending an armor also grants additional decoration slots for armors rarity 5 and 6. Rarity 5 armor receives a +1 slot to all three slots while rarity 6 armor receives a +1 slot to its first 2 slots.

If a rarity 6 armor already contains a lv 3 decoration slot, this slot would be unaffected by the +1 slot addition since a lv 3 slot is the cap. For example, a rarity 6 armor that has ③, -, - slots will be transcended into ③, ①, -.

How to Transcend Armor

Reach HR 100

The option to Transcend Armor becomes available once you reach HR 100. You can quickly gain Hunter Rank Points by completing quests and doing special events like Eldritch Enigma.

How to Reach HR 100 Fast

Talk to Gemma in Base Camps

Transcend Armor

You can transcend an armor piece anytime by talking to Gemma in any Base Camp. Navigate to Upgrade/Forge Armor and select Transcend.

Only Available for High Rank Armor

Only High Rank armor can be transcended. This means that armor rarity 4 and below cannot be transcended. Correspondingly, any armor piece rarity 5 and above can be transcended.

Hunter Symbols

Hunter Symbol 1 Used to transcend Rarity 5 Armor
Hunter Symbol 2 Used to transcend Rarity 6 Armor
Hunter Symbol 3 Used to transcend Rarity 7 and Rarity 8 Armor

Hunter Symbols are needed to transcend every armor piece in the game. The transcension system also integrates the rarity of the Hunter Symbol and the rarity of the armor piece, where higher rarity armor needs a higher Hunter Symbol.

Monster Certificates

Dohsa Certificate S

Transcending an armor piece that is related to a monster will require its S certificate. If you plan to transcend a gamma (γ) armor, you'll need its gamma (γ) certificate.

Rare Monster Item

Gore Magala Nyctgem

Another requirement for transcending a monster related armor is the monster's rare item, often pictured like a star that shines. This differs from monster to monster, so check the exact rare item you need to transcend an armor!
