Description: Male Ceratonoths are known for their large herds and use their large spikes to channel any lightning strikes. A male Ceratonoth responds quickly when a large predator attacks and makes an effort to lead his herd to safety.

Habitat:
Description: Dalthydons are herbivores that live in herds and move between habitats. Dalthydons use their evolved cranial plating as a weapon. They are bred as livestock and play an important role in human life.
BulaqchiBulaqchi
Type: Neopteron
Habitat:
Description: Bulaqchi are Neopterons that inhabit the Windward Plains and use their needle-like mouths to pour digestive juices into carrion to dissolve it for easy consumption.
GajiosGajios
Type: Leviathan
Habitat:
Description: Gajios are leviathans with distinct snouts that live near water. If the water is deep enough, a Gajios will stay submerged with the tip of its nose exposed, waiting for its prey.

Description: Baunos are winged wyverns that live in the Windward Plains Baunos use their high vantage to scavenge carrion and vibrate their thorax feathers to create a deafening roar.

Description: Talioths are carnivores that prowl the Windward Plains. Their distinct jaw is designed to grab prey and hunt in packs. Talioths can take on a bigger monster and win by sheer numbers.

Habitat:
Description: Gelidron are amphibians commonly found in Oilwell Basin. Subcutaneous slime protects them from getting burned. Gelidron lay ambushes, waiting to snap up prey with their big, meaty tongues.
VespoidVespoid
Type: Neopteron
Habitat:
Description: Vespoids are neopterons with paralyzing poison stingers on their abdomens. Vespoids are attracted to light and hunters can use brightmoss to mark large monsters, which Vespoid will then attack and paralyze.
CongaConga
Type: Fanged Beast
Habitat:
Description: Conga are fanged beasts with pink fur. Conga packs typically consist of females and juveniles. Beware their terrific flatulence, as they will use it to inflict stench on perceived threats.

Description: A Nerscylla Hatchling is the larval form of a temnoceran that inhabits the Iceshard Cliffs. At this stage, they cannot use webbing or status ailments like adult Nerscylla.

Description: Comaqchi are neopterons that inhabit the Iceshard Cliffs. A Comaqchi's forelegs are well adapted to strike, and they can use their well-developed tail stingers to inject a sleeping agent into their targets.

Description: Rafma are herbivores that live primarily in cold regions. Rafma form herds with a large alpha at the head. When threatened, the alpha discharges static energy stored in its horn to shock foes and defend the herd.

Description: Harpios are winged wyverns that are identifiable by the long, sharp horn on their heads-which just so happen to make great Slinger ammo. Harpios never attack hunters, choosing instead to stay by the water and prey on fish.

Habitat:
Description: Kranodaths are carnivores that prowl Oilwell Basin. A Kranodath's skulls have evolved in a way that lets them expand and contract the plating, and lunge at prey with hammer-like blows.
PiragillPiragill
Type: Leviathan
Habitat:
Description: Piragills are leviathans whose bodies are covered with beautiful scales and sharp blades. A Piragill's speed is unmatched, and those blades will make mincemeat of a hunter that wanders too close.
PorkeplumePorkeplume
Type: Bird Wyvern
Habitat:
Description: Porkeplumes are bird wyverns that live in herds at the heart of the Ruins of Wyveria. Porkeplumes are extremely timid and will protect themselves against threats by puffing out the bristles on their heads.
Guardian SeikretGuardian Seikret
Type: Construct
Habitat:
Description: Guardian Seikrets are artificial wyverns created by an ancient civilization. Unlike the original Seikret, the Guardian types are aggressive and have sharp, dangerous claws on their unique forelegs.
BlangoBlango
Type: Fanged Beast
Habitat:
Description: Blangos are fanged beast with snow-white pelts. Blango packs work together efficiently to eliminate threats to their territory.
Omega MicrosOmega Micros
Type: Unknown
Habitat:
Description: Omega Micros are small machines manufactured by Omega Planetes that home in on hunters and self-destruct. Attention can be drawn with a sonic bomb. Will sometimes create a shield when destroyed.

What Are Small Monsters?

Creatures that Provide Materials or Support

Killing small monsters and carving their carcasses provide materials used for hunting or crafting. Some monsters like the Talioth can be used to attack large monsters and keep them occupied for a while.

Remember that some small monsters might be hostile on sight, so be careful when approaching their packs.
