These are a rare type of Pillopod with a larger body. They can be caught in the daytime during the Plenty.

How to Catch Gillopod
Use the Capture Net
You can find the Gillopod on the wall, possibly accompanied by Pillopod. It's bigger than the Pillopod and colored blue rather than pink.
If you've set up the Area 2: Crumbling Structures Pop-up Camp, you can fast travel there to get to the Gillopod location quicker.
You might also have a higher chance of sighting Gillopods during Inclemency and Plenty weather.
