Block With Your Weapon
The easiest way to dodge a monster's roar is by blocking it with your weapon. As long as you block before the roar comes out, and you are facing the monster, you will be able to dodge the roar's effects.
How to Block and Perfect Guard
Perform a Dodge Roll
You can also perform a regular dodge roll to avoid getting affected by a monster's roar. Do note that the window of timing to avoid roars during a dodge roll is small, but this can be improved by getting two to three levels of Evade Window.
I-Frame Guide: How to Dodge Attacks
Perform a Dive Evade
When you perform a dive evade by sprinting away from the monster and evading, you will be able to dodge the monster's roar. This is because you are invulnerable for the duration of the evade's animation.
The downside of this move is that you are left vulnerable as you get up from the dive. Make sure you are diving away from the monster's attack range to lessen the chances of you getting hit by a follow-up attack.
How to Dive Evade (Superman Dive)
Use Super Armor Moves
By performing moves with Super Armor like the Great Sword's Tackle, you will be able to dodge a monster's roar.
Additionally, if the Super Armor move has additional effects when it blocks attacks, you will be able to activate them after tanking the monster's roar.
Equip Earplug Decorations
Earplug Decorations are another way for players to dodge monster roars. This skill from this decoration can negate a monsters roars based on its level, with the highest level protecting you from even the strongest of roars.
You can also get Earplug's skill effects as song effects from select Hunting Horns.
Insect Glaive Extracts Provide Earplugs
During the Pre-Launch Community Update, it was revealed that getting all three extracts (Reed, White, and Orange) will provide you with Earplugs, as well as wind pressure and tremors mitigation.

Why You Should Dodge Monster Roars
Monster Roars Make You Vulnerable
Monster roars are dangerous because they interrupt your actions and stop any attack combos you may be doing. Not only that, but it forces your hunter to cover their ears, making them unable to dodge or block. This makes you vulnerable to attacks.
