This is a walkthrough for Chapter 1 of Monster Hunter Wilds. Read on to find a list of all the main story quests for Chapter 1, a detailed walkthrough, and a complete list of monsters you will encounter.

| 1 | Finish the character customization. |
| 2 | Dodge the monsters from the opening cutscene and rescue the child. |
| 3 | Speak with Alma and choose your weapon. After choosing, mount the Seikret and follow the brother's scent to a cave. |

| 5 | Arrive at the Base Camp and check on the others. You will formally meet Y'sai and Nona after that. |
As you're headed for your next mission, you and your crew spot a child being chased by deadly monsters. Using your Hunter skills, you save the kid and her brother from the fierce Chatacabra.
Desert Trotters Mission Walkthrough

| 1 | Gemma has set up the smithy and is now available for use. Armor can now be crafted, and Gemma will provide some materials for the hunter to use. |
| 2 | Talk to Olivia and she will tell you about her role in the expedition. Completing her dialog will allow you to enter the Training Area if you wish to test other weapons. |
| 3 | Talk to Jack and he'll tell you that they're still in the process of setting up provisions, so head to the next objective after he's finished talking. |
The group returns to the base camp to assess the situation. The expedition team settles in and gathers to prepare for the next step forward.

| 1 | After settling into base camp, the hunter must escort the siblings Nata and Ysai back to their camp. Talk to Alma when you're ready to leave. |
After deciding what to do next, Yvis unit accompanies Ysai and Nata back to their village.
The Beginning Mission Walkthrough

| 1 | Guide Nata and Ysai back to their village of Kunafa, while collecting any honey you come across. Defeat the Bulaqchi on the way back to the camp. |
| 2 | After re-stocking supplies in the camp, respond to the SOS flare and rescue the support team from the Quematrice to complete the Hot on Their Tails quest. ▶︎ Monster Hunt: Defeat Quematrice |
| 3 | Escort Ysai once again back to his village. |
| 4 | Upon reaching Kunafa the second time, the hunter will now be granted entry. Talk to the villagers and then head to Ysai's house for a hearty meal. |
As the expedition team settles in, the support team gets attacked by a Quematrice. Rescue the support team and end the Quematrice's pursuit.
Village of Whispering Winds Mission Walkthrough

| 1 | Before leaving, be sure to replenish your supplies and make any necessary adjustments to your weapons and armor. After making the necessary preparations, leave and head to your next destination. |
| 2 | Eventually the team will meet up with Nata and Gemma. After a short conversation, the cutscene ends and the next mission begins. |
The team gets wind of the looming Doshaguma threat and heads into the forest to investigate.
To the Forest Mission Walkthrough

| 1 | After arriving at the camp in the Scarlet Forest. You are introduced to Erik, the Biologist and Werner, the Engineer. Travel with Erik to a campsite in the forest |
| 2 | Follow the Doshaguma traces. Erik will find Lala Barina florets on the way and will be captured by the monster. |
| 3 | Hunt the Lala Barina and complete the A Stage of Rose and Thorn Assignment quest. ▶︎ Monster Hunt: Lala Barina |
| 4 | Return to the camp after completing your Assignment Quest. You make your way back to the campsite to find that Wudwuds have taken over your camp. |
| 5 | Follow them to the Wudwud Hideout and negotiate for the return of Alma's treasure. Hunt the Congalala and complete the Assignment Quest Drive Off the Congalala!. ▶︎ Monster Hunt: Congolala |
| 6 | After your battle with the Congalala, Alma decides to return to the Base Camp with the new information on the Doshaguma. |
Travel to the Scarlet Forest and regroup with your team at the Base Camp. you meet Erik, a famous Biologist, and go with him to inspect the Scarlet Forest.
During your investigation, a Group of Wudwuds take over your campsite.
Forest Findings Mission Walkthrough

| 1 | Now that the Drive Off the Congalala quest has been fulfilled, the Doshaguma investigation can continue. Talk to Alma when you're ready to leave. |
| 2 | The group will discover that there is a pack of Doshaguma that could threaten the safety of Kunafa Village, and will head to Kunafa village to warn them. |
| 3 | The party wants to evacuate the villagers, but they will need Zatoh's help to convince the elder of the impending threat. Follow Alma to the oasis where Zatoh is. |
With Congalala's defeat, the team successfully fulfills the Wudwud's request. As a result, the Doshaguma investigation continues in full swing.
The Investigation Continues Mission Walkthrough

| 5 | Head back to Kunafa village and prepare for the next leg of the journey to the plains base camp. |
While trekking through the Scarlet Forest, the Hunter discovers a pack of Doshaguma that could endanger the Kunafa villagers. Convince the Elder of this impending threat and keep the village safe.

| 1 | Before you talk to Nata, upgrade or change your equipment if necessary and stock up on supplies. Talk to Nata when you're ready to go to the plains base camp. |
| 2 | When the team arrives at the Plains Base Camp, you can ask Werner about the whereabouts of Erika and Olivia. Select the End Conversation option when you're ready to leave. |
| 3 | After the conversation with Werner ends, the team heads to Scarlet Forest. |
