Sturdy Bone is an Equipment Material in Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds). See the location of Sturdy Bone and how to get it, as well as how to farm it and its uses.

Sturdy Bone Farming Route

Best Farmed in Low Rank Windward Plains

Windward Plains Bone Farming Route
Windward Plains Bone Farm
  1. Start at the Lookout Hill camp and gather the bones in Area 9 and 10.
  2. Fast travel to the Mineral Cave camp and grab the bones in Areas 4 and 5 then jump down and get the ones in Area 1.
  3. Fast travel to Area 16: Bone Desert and gather from the bonepiles in that area.

Sturdy Bones are best farmed in Low Rank Windward Plains as it has the most Bonepile nodes compared to other locations. Note that Sturdy Bones can also be obtained in the High Rank version of Windward Plains.

Make sure to set the environment to Plenty by resting in your tent, if it isn't already, to increase the chances of getting Sturdy Bones.

Monster Hunter Wilds - Bonepiles

Players must first reach High Rank to be able to gather Sturdy Bones. Once reached, the easiest way to get Sturdy Bones is to harvest Bonepiles scattered across the world with the environment set to the Plenty state.

Bypass Cooldown with Optional Quests

Bypass Cooldown with Optional Quests

Bonepiles have a 15 minute cooldown after being exhausted, but the cooldown can be bypassed by starting an Optional Quest in Windward Plains, harvesting the Bonepiles, and then selecting "Return from Quest" in the menu.

The recommended Optional Quests to farm Sturdy Bones in is The Pursued and the Pursuer and A Futile Fight. These are early Optional Quests in the Windward Plains with the Plenty State, allowing you to get more Sturdy Bones.

Wear Armor with Geologist Skill

Equip the Geologist Skill

Equip armor with at least 1 level in Geologist to maximize efficiency when gathering from Bonepiles. You can find a Chainmail Armor Set in your item box which is available at the start of the game.

Gather from Corpses of Small Monsters

Monster Hunter Wilds - Small Monsters

Players can also obtain Sturdy Bone from the corpses of the monsters that were slain. Their body starts to rot 5 minutes after being defeated, and it becomes a Bonepile 6 minutes after defeat.
