Capture a Doshaguma in the Scarlet Forest
| 1 |  Visit the Scarlet Forest Base Camp after completing the Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns main mission and speak with Erik. You'll find him sitting near your tent. ▶ Erik Character Guide and Location |

| 2 |  Erik will ask you to help him investigate Doshagumas more by capturing one in the forest. Check your map for any Doshaguma sightings and track that monster. Note: You'll have to capture the Doshaguma in the Scarlet Forest; otherwise, it won't count for quest progression. If you're unable to look for one, open your map and check your environment overview to determine when one will spawn. ┗ Spawn Doshaguma by Changing Environment |
| 3 |  Fight the Doshaguma and weaken the monster enough for it to be capturable. You can determine if a monster can be captured by the skull icon appearing above the monster's icon on the map, when the monster is limping away when moving areas, or when your palico cues you that the monster is looking weak. ┗ How to Beat Doshaguma ▶ How to Capture Monsters |
Spawn Doshaguma by Changing Environment
If you find yourself needing to wait for a long time before a Doshaguma spawns, you can opt to hunt other monsters first, or you can change time via the Rest option in your tent. Using the Rest option will, in exchange for Guild Points, let you alter the time and weather conditions to match the Doshaguma's next appearance.

| 1 |  After capturing the Doshaguma, return to Erik to report your successful hunt! Erik, as enthusiastic as he can be, will share his findings and reward you with Tranq Bombs and Large Dung Pods to help in your future hunts! |

 Doshaguma is a herd monster, usually hunting in packs. Make sure to bring and use Large Dungpods to isolate your target.Be wary of heavy slams and ground shattering attacks. Doshaguma often winds up before a strong hit, so make sure to identify these tells to prepare for the upcoming attack. |

The Forest Doshaguma side mission is unlocked after completing the Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns main mission in Chapter 5. Speak with Erik in the Scarlet Forest Base Camp to begin the quest.
