Royal Rhino can be obtained from the unique gathering point, Shining Rhino, in low rank.
The video above is applicable for all ranks as the gathering points are exactly the same regardless of rank.
Royal Rhino can be gathered from Shining Rhino gathering points in the Flooded Forest just like King Rhinos. However, the Royal Rhino can only be found in Low Rank.
There are only five Shining Rhinos in the Flooded Forest, and they're all spread relatively far apart. To maximize gathering them, equip Geologist Lv. 2 and look out for an Upsurge of Local Items.
You can use your Palamute when you go on expeditions to farm certain items as you can use their Sniff 'em Out! ability to help you look for farming nodes!

| 1 |  Use the Wirebug near the Main Camp then go left to take the shortcut to Area 13. Scale up the mountain and go inside the temple for the first Shining Rhino. |

| 2 |  Use the nearby Great Wirebug or fast travel to the Sub-camp and climb to the area above it. The Shining Rhino should be on one of the trees. |
| 3 | If you have access to Buddy Recon 1, use it to quickly reach the large temple. Otherwise, head toward it with your Palamute. From here, use the Great Wirebug and then continue climbing up the structure until you reach a blocked off entrance near the peak. Blow up the entrance with a Large Barrel Bomb and look for the Shining Rhino by the entrance. |
| 4 |  Exit the room and head to the back of the pyramid at the easternmost part of the map. Descend all the way to the bottom and look for a Shining Rhino on one of the trees near the Pitcher Cluster. |
| 5 | Fast travel to the Sub-camp and head to Area 7. Use your Wirebugs from the area with Felynes to land on the rock platform on the waterfall shown above. From here, use your Wirebugs again, this time aiming at the cliff. Scale it to reach the last Shining Rhino. |
