The easiest spot to farm Flamefin is the Fishing Spot near the starting camp in Lava Caverns both in Low Rank and High Rank! This area is safe from any monsters so you can fish all you want!

I found flamefin and great flamefin in the sandy plains map. There's a fishing spot almost straight north of the camp, and there are flamefin there.

So I just found some in the sandy Plains exploration. It's on the right hand side of the map near one of the extra camps. It's a red sword fish looking fish, there's a large one which is Great flame fin and a smaller one which is the flame fin
