he Arch-Tempered Nu Udra Free Challenge Quest is no longer available. It ran from October 28 to November 11, 2025 (ET). This quest required hunting Arch-Tempered Nu Udra within a time limit in order to win exclusive pendants.
Only Playable from HR 100 or Higher
The Burn in Blackest Hell Free Challenge Quest requires players to have reached HR 100 or higher.

Use Water Weapons
Nu Udra is primarily weak to Water. Recommended Water weapons are Water Artian Weapons, Mizutsune Weapons, and Uth Duna Weapons weapons.
Equip Adaptability Level 2
Arch-Tempered Nu Udra has a new flame aura that drains the health of hunters nearby, as if standing on lava, even with Cool Drinks. To counter this, make sure to include Adaptability 2 in your build to negate the additional damage.
Increase Fire Resistance
Like its regular form, Nu Udra mostly uses fire attacks, including a powerful Flamethrower that can quickly cart unprepared hunters. It's highly recommended to aim for 20 Fire Resistance to negate Fireblight. You can increase Fire Resistance by equipping the right armor, slotting in the Fire Resistance skill, or eating meals in the Grand Hub.
Start in Area 15 Camp
Arch-Tempered Nu Udra will always start in Area 17 of the Oilwell Basin. Try to set up camp in the nearby Area 15: Lower Strata North to save travel time.
Use Terrain for Damage
Use the terrain to your advantage to deal extra damage to Arch-Tempered Nu Udra. One good place is Area 14, where you can drop 3 Falling Stalactites. Area 14 also has 2 Sleeptoads that can help weapons with strong waking moves like the Great Sword.
Disable Support Hunters
It’s recommended to disable Support Hunters for this quest, as it increases AT Nu Udra’s health and makes the quest take longer to complete.

This certificate is used to craft the new Nu Udra γ Armor Set and Felyne Udra γ Set. It's also used in crafting two new charms: Descent Charm III and Fury Charm III.
