Best Farmed in High Rank Windward Plains

Novacrystals are the rarest kind of minable ore from Mining Outcrops. They are obtainable from any High Rank location. Windward Plains is the best location to farm Novacrystals in as it has the most Mining Outcrops.
It's recommended to have three levels of Geologist equipped to maximize efficiency when farming.

Must Reach High Rank First
To be able to find Novacrystals, players must first reach High Rank as a hunter. Once reached, the easiest way to get Novacrystals is to find Mining Outcrops scattered across the world.
Bypass Mining Outcrop Cooldown with Optional Quests
Mining Outcrops normally have a 15 minute cooldown which can be bypassed by starting an Optional Quest in Windward Plains, harvesting the Mining Outcrops, and then selecting "Return from Quest" in the menu.
Can Drop While Fighting a Gypceros
Players can also get Novacrystals while fighting a Gypceros. There is a 30% chance of it dropping upon breaking a Gypceros' head and a 12% chance when destroying one of its wounds.

High Level Investigation Reward
Novacrystal can appear as a possible quest reward for completing high-level investigations. The investigations that can give you this item are for tempered monsters that are 6 stars and up or regular monsters that are 7 stars and up.
