Use Focus Strike on Gore Magala's Weak Point

Gore Magala's weak spot becomes available after it does its Charged Frenzy Blast attack. Use Focus Strike on Gore Magala's head after this attack to topple Gore Magala and remove its Frenzied State.

Keep Attacking Once You're Frenzied

Gore Magala will periodically attack using dark-colored clouds that inflict Frenzy. A purple gauge will appear above your health bar indicating that you're inflicted with Frenzy.

Keep attacking before the Frenzy gauge fills up to avoid getting the negative effects of Frenzy. You can also use Nullberries as an alternative to reduce the Frenzy gauge.

Use Traps When Gore Magala is in Frenzied State

Use Traps when Gore Magala is in its Frenzied State as it grants you a damage window to break Gore Magala's horns. Although this is not always required, targeting Gore Magala's head is quite hard as it is more agile and aggressive in its Frenzied State.

Break its Horns While it's Frenzied

Gore Magala's horns are normally hidden, and only appear when it enters the Frenzied state. You can identify it's Frenzied when the horns glow purple and it becomes more aggressive.

You can use Shock Traps or Pitfall Traps for your damage window to gain an opening for its horns.

Move Away from Fenzy Air

Move Away from Frenzy Air

Move away from Frenzy Air to avoid being infected by Frenzy Virus. During the Fight, Gore Magala will contaminate the air with Frenzy, staying in areas with Frenzied Air will result to Frenzy Virus Infection.

Gore Magala Uses Weak and Strong Roars

Gore Magala techincally has 2 functioning roars (Weak and Strong) and 1 that acts as a feint. Gore Magala's Weak Roar is performed when your first initiate battle with it and at any time outside of its Frenzy phase, while a Strong Roar will be performed when Gore Magala enters its Frenzy phase.

Charged Frenzy Blast
While in a Frenzied state Gore Magala breathes out fumes of Frenzy from a standing position, with three delayed blast explosions. Take advantage of this attack by avoiding the fumes and using Focus Strike on Gore Magala's head for a topple.
Frenzy Blast
Gore Magala breathes out fumes of Frenzy with a delayed blast explosion. You can avoid damage from this attack by performing a panic dive (superman dive), or by simply rolling away if you're not too deep in the fumes.
Frenzy Breath Sweep
Gore Magala unleashes a Frenzy breath attack in a circular motion. Dodge forward to avoid damage and position yourself under Gore Magala.
Triple Frenzy Bal
A triple Frenzy breath attack that hones in on your position. Dodge sideways right before the breath attack hits you to avoid damage.
Frenzy Ball
Gore Magala fires a ball of Frenzy from its mouth. Roll to the sides to avoid this attack.
Claw Drag
Gore Magala drags one of its claws from behind and slashes forward. Dodge to the side of the claw that Gore Magala will use to avoid damage from the slash.
Frenzy Slam
Gore Magala charges Frenzy in its mouth, followed by a Frenzy infused claw slam. Run either away from Gore Magala or to its side to avoid damage and Frenzy.
Charge
Gore Magala will charge at your position, dealing damage as it runs you over. Dodge to the side away from Gore Magala, or block the incoming charge to avoid damage.
Tail Rodeo
Gore Magala will spin wildly, using its tail to sweep nearby hunters and dealing damage to them. Take advantage of this attack by rolling forward and taking refuge under Gore Magala's torso and unleash your combos there.
Dive
From a flying position, Gore Magala positions itself vertically before diving towards your direction. Run sideways to avoid any follow up hits during its dive.

Tempered Gore Magala will only appear after the Chains of Life assignment quest. You'll have to wait for a Tempered Gore Magala to appear in the Iceshard Cliffs to be able to start a quest against it as there is no optional quest for Tempered Gore Magala.

The Tempered Gore Magala can also be hunted in 9★ difficulty quests. These quests are only available for players who are HR 100+ and will randomly appear throughout the map. Saving these quests as investigations are recommended to maximize the reward potential.

Tempered Gore Magala Appearance

Tempered Gore Magala are stronger and covered in large scars across their bodies which you can damage and open into Tempered Wounds that you can break with a Focus Strike to deal increase damaged and even knock them down to the ground!

As a 7★ and 8★ difficulty monster, hunting Tempered Gore Magala will reward Ancient Weapon Fragment and Hunter Symbol 3. At a higher difficulty level, Wyverian Bloodstone (L) will be a more common drop.

On the other hand, 9★ difficulty quests offer unique rewards including Glowing Stones, Armor Spheres, and Artian Reinforcement Materials. Take note that 9★ hunts do not reward Ancient Weapon Fragments, Hunter Symbols, or Decorations.

Gore Magala cannot be frenzied as it is the source of the Frenzy Virus itself. At its normal variant, Gore Magala already has a Frenzied state.
