Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Walkthrough Comments
I feel like SnS and LBG should get bumped up in tiers due to their capabilities of providing support to allies, more or less as much as HH. Sure, say what you want about Wide Range but there’s nothing more satisfying as using SnS with WR and popping a sushi fish or mega pots to save people who are reckless and keeps them on the offensive constantly. With a 3-2-1 or 3-2 talisman with WR 2 and the hard friendship deco and even Inspire for more boosting. LBG doesnt need WR though.

Hammer Gang, show your respect. It doesn't deal a lot of damage but Hammer user is the one that control the pacing of the hunt.
That's Why I main Insect Glaive. You have buffs to prevent getting hit by your team and when you don't have these buffs, you're usually so far up in the air that you can't get hit by your teammates. The meta playstyle for glaive is "The floor is COVID-19, and you're a germaphobe."
Why is your tier list almost complete opposite of every other tier list I see?
This list is straight comical. I have over 2000 hours into this game, and ive played every weapon other than lance and gunlance. After they introduced the afflicted monsters with insane amounts of hp i became more focused then ever on dps, and nothing comes close to bow and lbg. I find lbg boring after a while so i pretty much always play bow now and literally do at least 40% of the dmg in every quest. Only players that ever come anywhere close are lbg players using rapid peirce.
update this tier list it’s now october
I understand how some people can be passionate about tier lists and min-maxing, etc. It's part of one's enjoyment of the game for some. I personally main Glaive, and my two main secondary choices are LBG and Dual Blades. I find it helps if you just try out all the weapons, pick and practice the ones you like and just keep on enjoying it without worrying too much about the stats and just progress your gear towards your Wishlists naturally.
I enjoy playing the lance because you're able to play in so many different ways. You can play very defensive and hunker down, you can be very mobile and evade attacks. Regardless of which way you play the lance, you can maintain such strong pressure on the monster.
they actually changed the compressed finishing discharge in sunbreak so it doesn’t send ur teammates flying anymore. switch axes combos have insane dps and most weapons can’t compete with that
Who else thinks longsword is overrated af and only lures people to play it because they watch anime
this is some bull shit
long is lame and overrated
Switch axe is trash and not helpful in multiplayer because they hit everything ruining other players combos that can do more damage than them
Charge blade can do so much damage and has many different playstyles. Many people can charge blade depending on how they like to play. Charge blade also has many different options to counter attacks as well as hit flying wyverns. I feel like so many people overlook charge blade because it seems too complicated
switch axe needs to return to SS tier. the dps on that weapon is INSANE, plus u can take advantage of status trigger, blade scale hone and adrenaline rush with wire step, parking statuses really good on switch axe and elements work great on it as well. please put SA on SS tier 🙏
LBG should 100% be SS, it has 4th best DPS, insane mobility, it's not hard to play and very versatile. I like SA and GS positions a lot. DB could probably go up a tier, and between S and A many weapons could (and should) go down a tier. I feel like with Bow having 2nd best DPS, having Mighty Bow as a decoration, a nice new switch skill (Bolt Boost) and just the usefulness of Dodgebolt, it could be SS, even if it's a bit harder to survive with when compared to GS, SA and LBG.
Now that we some concret speedrun times (image, from mhrspeedrun.com) and the meta has solidified a bit, some poisitions in this Tier List are indefensible. The DPS ratios go as follows: HBG > Bow > GS > LBG > SA > DB > HH > CB > LS > SnS > GL > IG > HM > LA. Speedrun DPS potential isn't everything but: having the weapon with highest DPS potential in last tier is silly; Bow is more flexible than it was in base, still 2nd best DPS, Dodgebolt more useful than ever; LS in SS is a bit overrated.
Apparently whoever wrote this didn't play LS at all
Just because one speedrun channel doesn't use it doesn't make it useless. There are some incredible LBG builds, especially the spread 3 from the finall boss is almost too strong at time and pierce is busted against some monsters and both require almost no thought, just shoot things.
