While Master Rank wasn't officially mentioned in Monster Hunter Wilds' anniversary message, it was stated that a large scale expansion, similar to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, will be coming for Monster Hunter Wilds.
Additional information about Monster Hunter Wilds' expansion can be expected in the summer of 2026. It is worth noting that there is a high possibility for this announcement to take place during the Summer Games Fest.

Previous Monster Hunter titles released their respective expansions within 9 months after their announcement. While this can be a coincidence, it can be speculated that the expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds will release between February and March 2027.
What is Master Rank?
The Next Difficulty After High Rank
Master Rank can be viewed as the next step in difficulty above High Rank. Monsters in Master Rank typically feature new moves, higher health pools, and deadlier attacks. Similarly, hunters gain access to stronger weapons, higher-grade armor, level 4 decoration slots, and purple sharpness.
Possible Master Rank Features
New Master Rank Quests
The expansion to Master Rank will result in a new catalog of quests that will be classified as Master Rank quests. This means that a whole new set of story, side, and event quests will be available to players once Monster Hunter Wilds' expansion releases.
New Monsters
Due to the availability of new quests, players can expect to encounter new or returning monsters from the old Monster Hunter games. This will greatly expand the number of monsters in the game, with the potential to add more Elder Dragons!
New Game Mechanics
The arrival of Monster Hunter expansions typically means that a new game mechanic will be introduced. For Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, it was the addition of the Clutch Claw, and for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, it was the introduction of Switch Skills.
