How to Unlock Hope of the Ancients

Permanent Event Quest

Hope of the Ancients is a permanent event that started on March 3, 2026. This is a 10-star quest where players need to hunt a Zoh Shia.

All 10 Star-Quests

Only Playable From HR 100 or Higher

This quest is accessible to hunters who have reached at least HR 100.

How to Reach HR 100 Fast

Accept the Quest From the Event Quests Tab

MH Wilds - Events Quest
From the Quest Counter, select the Event Quests Tab and select Hope of the Ancients to accept this quest. You can do this by speaking to Alma or opening the Quest Counter from the Tent.

How to Beat 10-Star Zoh Shia

Similar Attack Patterns as 8-Star Zoh Shia

The 10-star version of Zoh Shia has the same attack patterns as the regular version with no new attacks. The only differences are that it deals significantly more damage, it is more aggressive, and it has a higher health pool.

Zoh Shia Guide

Increase Fire Resistance

The fire attacks from 10-star Zoh Shia are quite deadly, so make sure you have high Fire Resistance. Having 20 Fire Resistance is recommended as it grants immunity to Fireblight.

Lv. 3: While active, increases elemental attack, and resistance to element taken at activation by 8

The Sild specialty meal is not recommended as it provides bonuses for capturing, and Zoh Shia cannot be captured.

Avoid Its Deadly Fire Attacks

Inferno

Use slinger ammo to destroy the Wylk Crystals and create a safe area. The attack can also be avoided by fast traveling to camp or hugging the southern edge of the arena.

After the main explosion, Zoh Shia can randomly use a smaller version of the attack for the remainder of the hunt. You can stay safe from this smaller blast by positioning yourself right behind its tail.

Flamethrower

Pull back immediately when you see Zoh Shia standing up, as it will start to wind up for its flamethrower attack.

Fireballs

Look out for Zoh Shia's fireballs as they have a deceptively large AoE, deal incredibly high damage, and hit surprisingly fast.

These are quite dangerous especially if they are used as a follow-up after you get knocked down. Make sure to wait for a while before standing up after being blown away

Pull Shrine Fragments

Remember to use the shrine fragments hanging above the arena to knock down Zoh Shia and create an opening to attack safely.
