true, its not good design. The only fix is either try it yourself experiment and record, or go to website like kiranico with exact hitzone value. Even the dmg number, yellow, doesnt always mean its soft or hard. A part with 42 hitzone will show yellow numbers, but its still under minds eye, not weakness exploit.... or if the game for once shows exact hitzone value....
"...effective against monster weak spots rated 3 stars or lower. However, there are some exceptions where certain parts do not take increased damage" Mind's Eye triggers on parts with a numerical hitzone value of 44 or lower, i.e. a "hard" hitzone, and the in-game "stars" do not line cleanly up with these numerical values. The "exceptions" are not arbitrary or mysterious. The discrepancy is between the in-game "stars" and the actual HZVs, and thus are not really exceptions; just a bad UI.
minds eye is much stronger than it was before! Before, I believe it was below 40 hitzone to trigger it. But they expanded it, its below 45. So even juicy parts w 42 hitzone, like the fore arms of gore magala, can benefit. And a wounded body part that used to be hard, like training barrel w 40 hitzone ( its prob 60 when wounded) will still get the buff, so its as if that part was insanely soft, its just like hitting the monsters weak point.
