Monster Hunter Wilds

How to Use Paint Pod

The Paint Pod is used to track monsters and serve as ammunition for the Slinger. Learn how to use the Paint Pod and see its effects here.

Paint Pod Uses

Used To Track Monsters

The Paint Pod is used to mark monsters, allowing the hunter to track them. This is especially useful for fleeing monsters, as they can be easily tracked as they run away from the hunter and flee to other areas.

While monsters can be tracked with scoutflies, Paint Pod allows the hunter to distinguish a specific monster when there are multiple monsters of the same type in a given hunt.

Requires the Use of Slinger

The Paint Pod can only be fired with the Slinger, as it counts as ammunition. Fortunately, since both are fixed items, the Hunter carries both on all hunts.

I'm still confused. Why use these when I can just tag a monster on the mini map?
