Gender: Male |
Durin was one of the many creations of Rhinedottir during her time in Khaenri'ah, with Durin himself being the first of her more prized creations, with the second being Albedo.
Eventually, Durin finds himself in Mondstadt and attempts to co-exist with its people there, but is unable to due to Durin's innate danger towards them.

Story and Profile
Sometime in Mondstadt's past, Barbatos and Dvalin eventually came to face off against Durin in an effort to save Mondstadt, finally defeating him and crashing his body into the nearby mountains.
His blood and bones eventually melded with the mountain's landscape to form what is currently known as Wyrmrest Valley in Dragonspine.
The Albedo we know now is not the first Albedo, seeing how the Version 2.3 Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event transpired.
It is highly likely that the first Albedo was trapped inside Durin by Rhinedottir for unknown reasons, only being able to emerge out of him after Durin's death.
M, along with two of the members of the Hexenzirkel Alice and B, created the world of Simulanka, with M choosing to write Durin as one of the living beings in its world.
Despite the warnings of B, who warned that he would go down the same path as his Teyvat namesake, M still chose to breathe life into him, creating Mini Durin.
Mini Durin shares the same desire to befriend the people of Simulanka, the same way that the Teyvat Durin wanted to befriend the people of Mondstadt.
However, unlike the Teyvat Durin, this version of Durin manages to finally befriend the Simulankans with the help of the Traveler and his companions.
A talk between Wanderer and Albedo near the end of the Simulanka Event reveals that the Real-World Durin is fated to resurrect from the dead, a theory that is supported by Albedo's recent findings in Dragonspine.
It is entirely possible that Mini Durin, along with Wanderer, will be called upon to face the Real-World Durin in the future if his fate comes to fruition.
Although not actually appearing, Durin played an important role in the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event in Genshin Impact 2.3, serving as the catalyst to all of the events.

A version of Durin appears in the Genshin Impact 4.8 flagship event, Summertide Scales and Tales. He plays the role of the Evil Dragon terrorizing its people, and must be sought after by the Hero and his companions.
