Takuya Story and Lore
The Blue Oni
The Blue Oni is the counterpart of the Crimson Oni faction, represented by Takuya and Arataki Itto respectively. As the name suggests, the Blue Oni's appearance are primarily colored blue, with blue-colored horns and bluish highlights on their skin.
Tale of the Blue and the Crimson Oni
Takuya's story in-game reflects the tale of the Blue Oni and the Crimson Oni.
The folklore begins with the Crimson Oni wishing to befriend and play with the humans. However, due to his Oni nature, the people threw beans at him. Beans are also known to cause an allergy to Onis.
The Oni's Oath
To help the Crimson Oni, the Blue Oni played the role of the bad guy. As planned, the Crimson Oni pretended to chase the Blue Oni away, which earned the acceptance of the townspeople. However, the Blue Oni left, to the Crimson Oni's sadness.
This pact of friendship and sacrifice between the two factions is the Oni's Oath.
Takuya's Grudge on the Crimson Oni
Takuya resents Arataki Itto, a Crimson Oni, for tarnishing the Oni's Oath. Takuya respects the Oni's Oath, describing how the Blue Oni faction have cut themselves with the rest of the world, and secluded without stable sustenance.
Itto is labeled as a troublemaker, and is always getting caught by the Tenryou Commission. Because of this, Takuya holds a grudge on Itto, as he feels that Itto is destroying the pact all for naught.
Joined a Band of Thieves
Because of the Blue Oni's solitary and secluded situation, Takuya resorted to being a vagrant. He joined a band of thieves headed by Nogata, the leader of the Vagrant Hideout.
In secret, Takuya was stealing goods for his own kin, who are most likely in hiding. This crime was conveniently pinned on Itto. An event that kickstarted Itto's story quest.
