Ororon's bread and butter lies in his passive ability with Electro-Charged team comps. He is currently the best choice for an Electro off-fielder on Taser team comps better than Fischl, especially against enemies in AoE. The fact that he can also hold the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City in itself is what makes him a worthwhile character to level up, and potentially a permanent staple unit in such teams, but is not as universal outside of it.
Theoretically, he can also work with Nightsoul-aligned characters, but no character other than Chasca with a Hydro character is synergistic with this passive. As such, Ororon is currently locked on team comps that can enable Electro-Charged.
However, the biggest perk for him is that he is complete at C0 for a 4-star character. There is no need to pull for any of his constellations unless you want to bump up his personal damage.

Ororon Ascension and Talent Materials
Strengths | |||
---|---|---|---|
• Has access to the powerful Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact set, allowing him to boost the team's Elemental damage by up to 28%. • Provides Electro application and DMG to the team in the form of a passive. • In his proper team comps, his Hypersense effect damage has nearly 100% uptime which increases his ease of use. • Passive damage scales on nothing but Ororon's ATK, making him simple to build. • Has a useful rocket jump ability that lets him ignore some vertical areas in the game by shooting himself into the air. |
|||
Weaknesses | |||
• Ororon's Hypersense effect requires Electro-Charged or Nightsoul-aligned DMG from his teammates, essentially locking him to Natlan or Electro-Charged teams. • Electro application is sub-par if functioning as the lone Electro unit or outside his proper team comps. |
Ororon's whole kit is very versatile due to his Elemental Skill and Burst which can both be used whether he is on the field or not and it applies consistent Electro DMG. This makes building him with the right artifacts much easier.
In addition, his Hypersense effect is a passive that scales on 160% of Ororon's ATK, which streamlines the substats you want into the standard ATK, CRIT, then ER.

In addition, this passive talent can also be triggered by Nightsoul-aligned attacks. So, the 2-pc. effect of the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City can also be utilized.

With Ororon being an Electro Sub-DPS character, whether on the field or not, you can also build him around a Hyperbloom team with the same Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact.

Ororon's main role in the team is to be a Sub-DPS, and although his passives do not require him to level most of his talents, they can still have a significant effect to his overall damage contribution.
Prioritize Ororon's Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, as these will often be used in his brief rotation period. Save his Normal Attacks for last as he will not have much opportunity to use them in his normal role.
A 4-pc. set of the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is great for Natlan characters like Ororon, who can apply buffs to your whole team based on Elemental Reactions.
You can also opt to choose a 4-pc. Golden Troupe or Thundering Fury to increase the Electro DMG of his Elemental Skill and Burst.

List of Artifacts and Set Bonuses
While Ororon does not have any signature weapons that particularly suit him, using a weapon like the Elegy for the End is recommended to give him the necessary buffs to his off-field attacks.
Weapons like Aqua Simulacra and The Stringless are also viable on Ororon due to the former's universal damage buff and the latter's unconditional Elemental Skill and Burst DMG increase.

Due to Ororon's kit requiring Electro-Charge to charge his Nightsoul Points, he is both tailor-made and arguably locked into Electro-Charge comps.
However, this does not mean he cannot function in other teams, as the only requirement for Ororon to function is that the team has ample Electro and Hydro application, or a Nightsoul-aligned ally.

Ororon's main team of choice is an Electro-Charge team, taking full advantage of Ororon's Hypersense effects to deal AoE Electro damage at set intervals.
This team comp offers the most amount of benefits for Ororon as he essentially becomes a potent source of AoE application due to how often the teams trigger Electro-Charge.

Ororon's Hypersense effect can also be triggered by Nightsoul-aligned DMG, which makes on-field Natlan characters like Chasca a good ally for Ororon.
These teams in particular also happen to be Electro-Charge in nature, which gives Ororon the highest chance of gaining and fully utilizing Nightsoul's Blessing.

Ororon can also function in a traditional Hyperbloom team, taking the place of the Hyperbloom trigger and building for Elemental Mastery.
It should be noted however that the team's Electro application may be hampered until Ororon can trigger Nightsoul's Blessing.

C2 |
King Bee of the Hidden Honeyed Wine After using his Elemental Burst, Dark Voices Echo, Ororon will obtain the Spiritual Supersense effect for 9s. Spiritual Supersense Gain 8% Electro DMG Bonus. Max 3 stacks, each stack is counted independently. Additionally, when you use the Elemental Burst Dark Voices Echo, you will trigger one instance of an effect equivalent to Hypersense, dealing 200% of its original DMG. You must unlock the Passive Talent "Nightshade Synesthesia" first. |
Rating | Constellation Effect / Merits | |
---|---|---|
C1 | ★★☆ |
• Enemies hit by his Elemental Skill take 50% more DMG from Ororon's Hypersense passive. • Increases the number of bounces on his Elemental Skill by 2. |
C2 | ★★☆ | • Gives Ororon Electro DMG Bonus when using his Elemental Burst, up to a maximum of 32%. |
C6 | ★★★ |
• Potentially buffs the active character's ATK by 30%. • Using your Elemental Burst triggers one instance of Hypersense that deals double its usual damage. |
If you are interested in only Ororon's personal damage, then C2 is a good stopping point for him as he benefits off of the Hypersense damage increase from C1 and the Bonus Electro DMG from C2.
However, if you are interested in Ororon's capability as a Sub-DPS with support capabilities, then push him to C6 to unlock the quality-of-life benefits from C4 and the 30% ATK increase for his team at C6.

---|
Ororon's basic all-in combo is fairly simple as he just needs to step on-field for a few seconds to let out his Elemental Skill and Burst, then letting his Hypersense effect handle the rest while he remains off-field.
Normal Attack: Spiritvessel Snapshot |
---|
Performs up to 3 consecutive shots with a bow.
Charge Attack Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. While aiming, Electro energy will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged arrow will deal Electro DMG. Plunge Attack: Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact. |
Night's Sling |
---|
Ororon manifests an ancient mystical technique from the Masters of the Night-Wind as a Spirit Orb of midnight shade and throws it at his foe, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG. When other opponents are nearby, the Spirit Orb will bounce between them, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG. Each time Night's Sling is used, each opponent can only be selected as a target once. After 3 bounces, or if there are no eligible targets left, the Orb will disappear. |
Dark Voices Echo |
---|
Ororon works an ancient ritual, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Electro DMG, summoning forth a Supersonic Oculus.
Supersonic Oculus: Continuously taunts nearby opponents and attracts attacks from them. Continously rotates and fires off sonic waves that deal Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG. |
Ororon's Elemental Burst deals AoE Electro DMG and summons a Supersonic Oculus. The Supersonic Oculus will stay on the field and taunt nearby enemies while firing sonic waves that deal Electro DMG in a certain AoE.
Nightshade Synesthesia |
---|
After a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Ororon will gain 40 Nightsoul Points. Within 15s after using his Elemental Skill, when other party members' Hydro or Electro attacks hit opponents, Ororon will gain 5 Nightsoul Points, an effect that can occur every 0.3s for a maximum of 10 times during this 15s duration. Ororon can have a maximum of 80 Nightsoul Points. Also, when nearby opponents take Electro-Charged reaction DMG or Nightsoul-aligned DMG dealt by other nearby characters, Ororon will consume 10 Nightsoul Points (provided he has at least that amount), entering the Nightsoul's Blessing state and triggering the Hypersense effect: Deal Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG based 160% of Ororon's ATK to at most 4 nearby opponents. The aforementioned effect can trigger once every 1.8s. Nightsoul's Blessing: Ororon Ororon's Nightsoul's Blessing state lasts 6s. |
As opposed to most Natlan characters that gain Nightsoul Points by their own means, Ororon needs the help of his party to be able to charge up Nightsoul's Blessing.
When the party triggers a Nightsoul Burst, or deals Electro-Charge DMG after Ororon uses his Elemental Skill, he gains a small amount of Nightsoul Points.
When Ororon has Nightsoul Points, he can enter Nightsoul's Blessing and trigger the Hypersense effect, which seems to cause enemies to take extra Electro DMG from Ororon when attacked by his team.
It should also be noted that Ororon's Hypersense Effect and Nightsoul's Blessing state can be maintained even if he is off-field.
Aspect Catalyst |
---|
After the Elemental Skill Night's Sling's Spirit Orb hits an opponent, Ororon will gain the Aspect Sigil effect for 15s.
Aspect Sigil When a nearby active party member hits an opponent with Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks, that character will restore 3 Energy. If Ororon is off-field, Ororon will also restore 3 Energy. This effect can trigger once every 1s, and can trigger 3 times per duration. |
While gliding, holding the Normal Attack will allow Ororon to enter Aiming Mode while in mid-air!
Holding his Aiming Mode will let Ororon enter the Spiritspeaker state, during which he can interact with certain mechanics that Saurians interact with, similar to Kinich's Nightsoul Blessing skills.
Night Realm's Gift: Flowing Fog, Spritely Shadows |
---|
While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, he can use Nightsoul Transmission: Ororon. When the active character is currently in the air, the following will trigger when switching to Ororon: Ororon will leap up high. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your party. |
Ororon seems to be able to perform a rocket jump, leaping high into the air before he has to start gliding.
This lets Ororon scale higher peaks with ease without having to climb manually for a time.
The Art of Skinchanging |
---|
Increases gliding SPD for your own party members by 15%. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the same effects. |

Natlan Release Date and Map Guide
According to Citlali, Ororon was an orphan raised by the members of the Masters of the Night-Wind, as he was left at the side of the road as an infant.
Around this time, the elders of the Tribe also saw that Ororon has a fragmented soul, which they thought can help the crumbling Ley Lines of Natlan, by turning him a vessel for lost souls that can guide them back to the Night Kingdom to repair it.
Fortunately, Ororon escaped the ritual, but it weighed too much on him as he thought his initial purpose was to fix the condition of Natlan's Ley Lines.
The EN VA of Ororon is Nathan Nokes, while his JP VA is Kondo Takashi, as announced in Genshin Impact's official X-account!

If two negatives make a positive, then a weirdo in a group of weirdos should just be normal, but Ororon somehow still seems a little off to me. Still, he seems plenty nice as a person. He even had Ifa bring a bunch of fruit and honey to the Children of Echoes, presumably because he thought he had caused too much trouble for us. I had no idea you could get such sweet honey from Phlogiston Aphids, so he must know what he's doing. (sigh) How can some people be such naturals with plants and animals? |

Chasca |
About Chasca Chasca is famous for a reason. She's an amazing mediator. The minute she shows up, all the fighting stops, and everyone starts shaking hands like the best of friends. She has a pretty convincing method, apparently — "armed deterrence"... Not a bad name. |
Citlali |
About Citlali Granny is actually a very straightforward person. She wears her emotions on her sleeve, you know? It's hard for her to hide what she's feeling. You're the same age as her, right? Or... are you even older? Sorry, I shouldn't ask. That was probably rude... But, if I'm right, maybe you could spend more time together. Granny's been surrounded by people younger than her for a long time, and she's probably had enough. I know she'll be happy to see you. |
Iansan |
About Iansan Iansan is a famous sports coach, and well... All I can say is, I'm grateful the Pyro Archon didn't send her after me. I may have an advantage when it comes to height, but I'm pretty sure she can outrun me... Oh, the smoke-cloud trick? Heh, after you use it a bunch, people start to see it coming. |
Ifa |
About Ifa Ifa may scold his patients a lot, but he actually has a great relationship with the saurians. Whenever he has some time off, he'd play the guitar in front of the clinic, and a bunch of saurians would gather around and sing along. Although, it's more like noise than actual singing. I like to join in when I'm around, too... with the saurians, I mean. |
Kinich |
About Kinich Ajaw is an interesting case. He's old, but also young... And Kinich is just the opposite - young, but also old. You know what I mean, right? |
Mavuika |
About Mavuika I didn't really know the Pyro Archon before all this. I mean, I knew of her, but I didn't KNOW know her, you know? I used to think of her like a totem engraved with the word "strength," like a symbol of total power and control. But, it never went deeper than that, so doubt started to creep in. Now that I know her better, I feel grateful, but I'm also a little disappointed in myself... She seems so sure of her purpose. She has a fire inside her and knows exactly why it burns, so she won't ever let the flames go out. I want that... I want to be someone who can help Natlan. Anyway, so there's that, and um... I also noticed her eating a lot of leafy vegetables at the victory feast. When I asked her about it, she said she likes to keep a balanced diet. Kinda surprised me somehow. I guess she's more mindful of the little things than I expected. |
Xilonen |
About Xilonen She seems to enjoy relaxing in high places, especially trees. In my experience, hanging upside down from a tree branch is more relaxing than lying on top of one. Maybe I should share that with her sometime... What? But don't we all need a change of perspective every now and then? Shouldn't that be even more true for an inventor like Xilonen? |
