Rana is first encountered in the Woodland Encounter quest. She is a Forest Ranger that hails from the Vimara Village.
While searching for Aranara with the Traveler, a child named Iotham went in the forest despite earlier being told not to due to the growing number of Withering Zones.
The Traveler and Rana managed to rescue Iotham, but the latter got affected by Marana.
To save Rana's life, an Aranara by the name of Arana put her inside a green bubble. The Traveler is tasked to go to Vanarana and collect Bija to cure Rana.
After collecting the Bija, the Traveler used it to awaken and cure Rana. In addition to getting cured, Rana regains her lost memories with the Aranara spirits.
Afterwards, Rana managed to gain a Dendro Vision and set out on an adventure with Arana.
