Similar to Mavuika, Pyro Traveler's ability to provide off-field Pyro as a lesser but easier-to-activate alternative to Xiangling for characters requiring periodic application for characters like Kinich or Chevreuse teams, especially as a Scroll holder, makes them a usable unit in comparison to their other forms. They also have a good quick-swap Elemental Burst which can be used as a nuke due to its decently high scaling.
The biggest downside however is that the uptime of their Pyro application is too slow and short, with their Skill ending abruptly before your Main DPS can do their full rotations.
The means to acquire and upgrade Traveler's constellations can be quite a journey. If you don't know it yet, obtaining the Blazing Flint Ore, which is the reward from reaching Reputation Level 4 from all Natlan tribes, and offering it to a location after the Archon Quest, unlocks additional overworld effects to the Pyro Traveler's constellations (its initial effects are only exclusive for the new weekly boss fight). In addition, the upgraded effect of their C6 is locked at the moment as Collective of Plenty does not exist yet.

Strengths | |||
---|---|---|---|
• Has access to on-demand Pyro Application that is simple to add to rotations, enabling the Traveler as a good option when picking a Pyro Sub-DPS. • Straightforward off-field playstyle that is possible in both extended and quickswap teams. • Constellations enable more damage for both the Traveler and their allies, as well as increasing the uptime of their Elemental Skill. |
|||
Weaknesses | |||
• Potential of the character is soft-locked by constellations, which are locked behind Natlan's reputation system. • Low damage scalings on Elemental Skill's by-interval Pyro application, even taking their constellations into account. |
Pyro Traveler is unlocked by completing the Archon Quest Where All Hopes Lie, which is one of the finale quests of Natlan's Incandescent Ode of Resurrection Chapter Act 5.
Unlike previous iterations of the Traveler, Pyro cannot be unlocked from the region's Statues of the Seven.
Incandescent Ode of Resurrection Quest
The Pyro Traveler's true constellations can be enhanced by giving offerings to the Throne of the Primal Fire, which is accessible after the aforementioned archon quest.
The player must use the Blazing Flint Ores they have acquired over the course of their journey in Natlan as offerings.
Blazing Flint Ore Locations and How to Use
As a Pyro unit having access to the Natlan Artifact Sets, as well as having their Elemental Skill be based on the Nightsoul Point system, the Traveler is built with the Cinder City Artifact Set in mind.
Since their abilities scale off standard ATK scalings, it is recommended to build the Traveler for comfortable Energy Recharge first, then slot into CRIT stats and ATK rolls.

As a Pyro DPS, the Traveler benefits from utilizing weapons and artifacts that either improve their overall elemental DMG, give them more supportive capabilities, or both.
Focus on their CRIT stats and ER to ensure that they get to a position where they deal damage comfortably.

Elemental Skill | Elemental Burst | Normal Attack |
The Pyro Traveler's Elemental Skill is their bread and butter for most of their damage, so this takes up the main priority among their talents, followed by the Elemental Burst for the quick nuke it provides.
The Traveler's Normal Attacks can be saved for last as they do not take up much field time as a Sub-DPS unit.
The Traveler is mainly run with 4-piece Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City for its supportive passive and DMG increases to the team.
However, the Traveler can also use a more generalized set like Golden Troupe, Flower of Paradise Lost for burgeon comps, or 2-piece combinations while farming for Cinder City.

List of Artifacts and Set Bonuses
As a damage-oriented unit, Pyro Traveler values personal damage or utility, opting for weapons such as Mistsplitter Reforged for their best choice when it comes to increasing their damage.
Other than that, they can also make use of weapons such as Primordial Jade Cutter for the universal buffs, and Wolf-Fang and Festering Desire if only looking to augment their Elemental Skill.

The Traveler's Free-to-Play nature and highly sought Pyro application makes them a formidable unit to be used in almost any team that requires the presence of a Pyro unit.
Even so, they benefit the most in teams that augment their damage via buffs, teams with transformative reactions, or both.
Sub-DPS | Main DPS | Sub-DPS/ Support |
Support |
---|---|---|---|
Traveler (Pyro) | Wriothesley | Furina | Xilonen |
Traveler (Pyro) | Ganyu | Nahida | Zhongli |
Pyro Traveler brings ample Pyro application to most teams, allowing them to function as the Sub-DPS in melt teams and allowing their Main DPS to proc Melt and deal more damage.
This also works both ways with the Main DPS and other units enabling the Pyro Traveler to be the trigger of the reaction as well.
Sub-DPS | Main DPS | Sub-DPS/ Support |
Support |
---|---|---|---|
Traveler (Pyro) | Kinich | Emilie | Bennett |
Pyro Traveler can also function in Burning teams, especially when paired with a Natlan character like Kinich, as that enables them to reliably keep the Burning reaction going.
This way, they can take the place of a more on-demand unit like Xiangling without sacrificing any Pyro application.
Sub-DPS | Main DPS | Sub-DPS/ Support |
Support |
---|---|---|---|
Traveler (Pyro) | Mualani | Kazuha | Xilonen |
Traveler (Pyro) | Tartaglia | Kazuha | Bennett |
Pyro Traveler can also function well in Vaporize teams as the dedicated Pyro Sub-DPS due to the abundance of Hydro DPS units and the Pyro Traveler's damage being amplified by the reaction.
Sub-DPS | Main DPS | Sub-DPS/ Support |
Support |
---|---|---|---|
Traveler (Pyro) | Tartaglia | Nahida | Kokomi |
Traveler (Pyro) | Ayato | Collei | Kazuha |
Burgeon comps also work for the Traveler if they are built with Elemental Mastery in mind, as their consistent Pyro application can proc Burgeon and cause multiple Pyro explosions against opponents.

Traveler (Pyro)'s Constellations | |

C1 |
Starfire's Flowing Light Base When opposing the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire incarnated by Gosoythoth, while the Blazing Threshold or Scorching Treshold is active, the Traveler's ATK increases by 40%, they take 40% less DMG, and their interruption resistance is increased. Upgraded While Blazing Threshold or Scorching Threshold are active, the current active character deals 6% increased DMG. If said character is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, they will deal an additional 9% DMG. |
C2 |
Ever-Lit Candle Base When opposing the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire incarnated by Gosoythoth, while in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, after the Traveler hits an opponent with Pyro attacks, that opponent's Pyro RES is decreased by 20% for 6s. Max 2 stacks. Each stack's duration is counted independently. Upgraded Within 12s of using the Elemental Skill Flowfire Blade, after nearby party members trigger Burning, Vaporize, Melt, Overloaded, Burgeon, a Pyro Swirl or a Pyro Crystallize reaction on an opponent, the Traveler will regain 14 Nightsoul points. Each use of Flowfire Blade will restore at most 28 Nightsoul points in this way. |
C3 |
Relayed Beacon Base When opposing the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire incarnated by Gosoythoth, the Traveler gains a 40% Pyro DMG Bonus. Upgraded Increases the Level of Flowfire Blade by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |

Upgraded Unlocked with Collective of Plenty in a future update. |
As mentioned, the Blazing Flint Ore unlocks additional effects to the Traveler's actual constellation. Their base constellations are only effective against the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire, so if you want to improve the Traveler's talents, we recommend doing the Natlan Tribe reputations and unlock these first.
Blazing Flint Ore Locations and How to Use
Rating | Constellation Effect / Merits | |
---|---|---|
C1 | ★★☆ | • Increases active character's damage by 6%, or 9% if the active character is in Nightsoul's Blessing whenever the Traveler uses their Elemental Skill. |
C2 | ★★☆ | • Provides Nightsoul Point regeneration to the Traveler when allies trigger Pyro-related reactions after the Traveler uses their Elemental Skill. |
C4 | ★★★ | • Increases Pyro DMG Bonus by 20% whenever using the Traveler's Elemental Burst. |
As we do not yet know what the Traveler's C6 does, C4 is our best bet when it comes to augmenting his damage as a Pyro Sub-DPS.
The bonus 20% Pyro DMG is an incredibly welcome addition to the Traveler's kit and can even enable them to run an ATK% Goblet in certain scenarios.
