This Main DPS build for Ganyu is a relatively cheap and easy build to make that helps Ganyu do the most DPS. It only needs two core characters, Xiangling and Bennett, for the team to work. The Shimenawa's set is the best set for this build, but a Wanderer's Set can be a good substitute.

This Freeze DPS build for Ganyu is more suited for non-boss-type enemies, stopping enemies in their tracks and dealing easy damage. One of the drawbacks of this build is it needs Mona or Kokomi and Kazuha or Venti to really make it shine.

Ganyu's role as a Sub-DPS is relatively simple. With her Elemental Burst, she will deal constant Cryo DMG in a wide area, while also providing a 20% Cryo DMG bonus to any character within the AoE field thanks to her Ascension Passive.
Main DPS | Sub DPS | |
---|---|---|
1st | Normal Attack | Elemental Burst |
2nd | Elemental Burst | Normal Attack |
3rd | Elemental Skill | Elemental Skill |
Ganyu as the Main DPS will need her Normal Attack maxed out since it's her primary source of DMG. As a Sub-DPS, she will only need her Elemental Burst at a high level. Her Elemental Skill isn't particularly strong and should be left at around level 6.

This is the standard Ganyu Melt Team comp. It provides increadibly high damage through the Reverse Melt reaction and is an easy team to build. Zhongli can be replaced by any support character like Diona who provides shield. This is to protect your from being interrupted while being up close to enemies.

The Ganyu Freeze team, typically called Morgana, focuses on freezing enemies by having an off-field Hydro unit apply the Hydro Aura on enemies. Along with Venti's Cryo infused Elemental Burst, this will cause enemies to become permanently frozen.
Mona can be replaced with Kokomi if you need healing and want enemies to be frozen longer.

Ganyu can work as a Sub-DPS in Dendro Fridge teams by applying off-field Cryo damage on enemies.Cryo does not work on Dendro, which makes it easy for the Hydro Main DPS to freeze enemies and create Dendro cores. Shinobu applies a weak Electro Aura on enemies, which makes triggering Hyperbloom her primary function.

Ganyu can fuction as a good Sub-DPS and buffer for Cryo units. Similar to Ganyu's Main-DPS freeze team, this team also focuses on freezing enemies while dealing high damage. Again, Mona can be replaced by Kokomi for more healing.

---|---|
C1 |
Dew-Drinker Taking DMG from a Charge Level 2 Frostflake Arrow or Frostflake Arrow Bloom decreases opponents' Cryo RES by 15% for 6 s. A hit regenerates 2 Energy for Ganyu. This effect can only occur once per Charge Level 2 Frostflake Arrow, regardless if Frostlake Arrow itself or its Bloom hit the target. |
C2 |
The Auspicious Trail of the Qilin gains 1 additional charge. |
C3 |
Cloud-Strider Increases the Level of Celestial Shower by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C4 |
Westward Sojourn Opponents standing within the AoE of Celestial Shower take increased DMG. This effect strengthens over time. Increased DMG taken begins at 5% and increases by 5% every 3s, up to a maximum of 25%. The effect lingers for 3s after the opponent leaves the AoE. |
C5 |
The Merciful Increases the Level of Trail of the Qilin by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C6 |
The Clement Using Trail of the Qilin causes the next Frostflake Arrow shot within 30s to not require charging. |
Rating | Constellation Effect / Merits | |
---|---|---|
C1 | ★★★ |
• Cryo RES reduction works for both Melt and Freeze teams. • Bonus energy provided helps with recharging Ganyu's Elemental burst much faster. |
C4 | ★★☆ |
• Excellent buff for Freeze teams. • Not as usefull for reverse melt Ganyu. |
Unlocking C1 for Ganyu is a good stopping point for light spenders. Her 4th Constellation is only really helpful for Freeze teams and has almost no value in a Ganyu reverse melt team comp.

Since she is an event exclusive 5-star character, she can only be acquired through limited Character Event Wish Banners. It is likely that she will have a rerun in the future, so stay tuned for more updates!

Those with the blood of the adepti have strong constitutions. Even when she is ill or injured, she does not require any medicine to recover. She isn't like your average mortal, who would be left with long-term residual issues if they did not receive medical treatment after a serious injury. |
![]() |
Privately, Ganyu and I get on like a house on fire! But as you know, she’s the secretary to the Liyue Qixing… and I’m not exactly in their good books right now! Doesn’t bother me, but I wouldn’t want to put Ganyu in a difficult position. So just keep what I said between us, yeah? |
![]() |
Skepticism: Who knows what Rex Lapis must have doe to inspire such blind devotion from Ganyu...but her reluctance to be critical is not without its advantages. In the workplace, she'll carry out my instructions to the letter, even when I can tell she has her reservations. It's a good attitude to have as a career professional.
Reflection: I find myself getting a second opinion from her a lot these days. Lots things come up that I just have no idea about, and of everyone in Liyue, she's probably the most familiar with Rex Lapis. Heh...I feel a bit awkward, though, because I used to be opening disparaging of Rex Lapis in front of her...But she doesn't seem to mind, so I guess I've got nothing to worry about... |
![]() |
One cannot afford to be overly reliant on others even when it comes to Ganyu. There is a Liyue saying which goes, "It takes a hundred people to keep a secret, but only one to let it slip." When there are important affairs to deal with, it is always safer to investigate and resolve it personally. |
![]() |
I've heard many stories about her from my master. She's really quite different from how I originally imagined her... But don't worry, I'll be keeping this to myself. Speaking of Ganyu, her work in Liyue Harbor is unbelievably busy... It seems that there is a price to pay for those who want to integrate into the mortal world. |
![]() |
Ganyu? Oh... Oh yeah! I remember her — vegetarian, right? She doesn't come to the Wanmin Restaurant very often — but when she does, she sits alone in the corner and eats her meal in total silence. Poor girl, she seems kinda lonely... I always give her an extra-large portion because I feel sorry for her. Funniest thing is, she eats every last bite, every time! I wouldn't have guessed she had such an appetite just by looking at her. |
![]() |
Ganyu is neither mortal nor illuminated beast. Wandering, both the mortal and adepti realms with duty as her sole guide, it was inevitable that she would become perplexed... What? Me? You believe a yaksha who knows nothing more than how to massacre countless souls and emerge unscathed is a suitable mentor for such an individual? ...Your mind occupies a very different world from that which your body inhabits. |
![]() |
Hmm, now that you mention it, it's been a while since I last saw Ganyu. Before the Sakoku Decree came into effect, the two of us would often meet to discuss bilateral relations between our two nations. I always found her quite reliable. The next time you go to Liyue, take her some more fresh Sea Ganoderma for me. |
![]() |
Ganyu is kind and thoughtful, it's just a shame she's so busy all the time. Most of the time, she's buried in an endless pile of paperwork — the only exception being her nap at noon. Don't get me wrong, I have to put in some hours at work, too. But I'm happy with the job I've chosen, and it's certainly a lot less taxing than hers. |
![]() |
Ganyu always has a lot of work to do. I heard that one time, she was so tired she accidentally fell asleep on the grass. sigh I do worry about her, you know! Hmm, maybe... we could go do a "surprise inspection"! You know, check in and make sure she's taking care of herself. Oh! Uh... Wait a minute. I'll go get some of her favorite plants for her to eat... |
![]() |
Ah, the secretary... I could never work non-stop like she does, certainly not at that level of efficiency. I guess being half-adeptus must have its perks. Imagine not needing sleep to regain your energy levels... |
![]() |
Liyue’s prosperity has not merely been built on Rex Lapis’ oracles or wisdom. It is also thanks to the countless servants of the Geo Archon who have honored their end of the contract. Of them, Ganyu is the one who has served for the longest time. If you want to know about her past… You should ask her about it. I fear my wording would not be delicate enough to receive her approval. |
