Players are rewarded with Primogems after completing a chapter in the Adventurer Handbook. Compelete Adventurer's Handbook missions to finish all of its chapters.
The Spiral Abyss will reward Players with Primogems after acquiring an Abyssal Star. Abyssal Stars are acquired by successfully following Spiral Abyss objectives when challenging floor levels.
Floors 1 - 8 reward players with 100 Primogems for every Abyssal Star (maximum of 3 per floor). Floors 9 - 12 only offer 50 Primogems per Abyssal Star but refresh every Abyssal Moon reset, allowing players to challenge it and claim its rewards again.
One of the easiest ways to get free Primogems is by participating in various Genshin Impact events! Accomplishing event quests and seeing an event through rewards players with Primogems generously.
Players can even get Primogems just by logging in! Login events reward players for logging in on a total number of days or on specific dates.
The Daily Check-In rewards the players with a maximum of 60 Primogems in one month. 20 Primogems are rewarded to players after they have logged in for a total of 7 days, for the first three weeks.
Hangout Events let you spend quality time with Teyvat's beloved characters while earning valuable rewards! Unlocking endings and achievements during Hangout Events quests will reward the player with Primogems.
Daily Commissions are another easy way to get Primogems daily! Completing all 4 Daily Commissions and claiming the Daily Commission completion reward from Katheryne will get you a total of 60 Primogems. You get 10 Primogems for each commission and 20 Primogems from Katheryne.
Other quest types such as Archon Quests and Story Quests give players Primogems upon completing. You can get Primogems from some World Quests, such as Event Quests, but they don't all give Primogems.

Players can get small amounts of Primogems by unlocking game achievements. Some achievements give 5 Primogems, some 10 Primogems, and some 20 Primogems.
Even if the Primogem reward from each achievement is little, there are many achievements in the game! Unlocking all of them can get you a lot of Primogems in total.
The game tips and tutorials that pop up while you are exploring actually gives you Primogems! Open the Archive from the Game Menu and select Tutorials. Click all the ones you haven't read, because one tutorial read = one Primogem.
Version Updates always come with a 300 Primogem bonus and a 60 Primogem compensation per additional hour of Server Maintenance! Players will also sometimes receive in-game mail about bugs and fixes, accompanied by a certain Primogems as compensation.
Daily Commissions are a sure-fire way to earn 60 Primogems daily. Players will get 10 Primogems for each Daily Commission completed, and 20 Primogems from Katheryne as a reward for completing all Daily Commissions.
You can get Primogem rewards from the Daily Check-In on HoYoLab as well. You will not get Primogems everyday, but you will need to log in every day to get to the Primogem rewards. Add this to your daily game responsibilities to get a bit more Primogems!
While you cannot buy Primogems directly, you can buy an item called Genesis Crystals. The Genesis Crystals can be turned into Primogems, and have no other use. One Genesis Crystal = one Primogem, so the amount of Genesis Crystals you buy will be the amount of Primogems you get.
Initially, the Battle Pass is available to players for free. If you want to get Primogems from the Battle Pass, however, you will have to purchase the Gnostic Hymn and level it up to 50. Doing so will reward you with a few Intertwined Fates and a whopping 680 Primogems!
Primogems should mainly be used to wish on Gacha Banners. While you can technically pull on a Wish Banner with Primogems, you cannot actually pull on a banner with Primogems alone. Primogems are used to buy an Acquaint or Intertwined Fate to be used on the selected wish.
It is recommended to prioritize getting Intertwined Fates with Primogems because these are used for Event Banners. Event banners are almost always better to pull on than the Standard Banners!
You can also use Primogems to replenish your Original Resin instantly. The initial exchange is 50 Primogems = 60 Original Resin, but the Primogem price increases the more you use it to replenish your Resin.
Using Primogems to replenish Original Resin is not recommended for Free-to-Play players. Taking the patient route and waiting for Resin will save your Primogems and allow you to wish more on Banners!
