Tier Rating

Dahlia is our first ever Hydro shielder but he leaves much to be desired. His ATK SPD buff is slightly less than Mika at C0 unless you have Dahlia's C6. His Elemental Burst shield can refresh but you will want to run him with niche Freeze teams to gain the full effect. Moreover, his Elemental Skill and Hydro application are next to useless as he has no actual off-field application.

His saving grace is that he's best with Skirk as an F2P option, but Skirk does not need him at all on her best team.

• Offers a refreshable Hydro Shield that gets better when placed in Freeze teams. • Simple to build as he only requires two stats in the form of HP and Energy Recharge. • Constellations give more Quality-of-Life benefits such as increased Shield Strength, increasing Shield duration, ATK SPD, and potential revivals.
Weaknesses
• Does not offer much else besides his shield. • No off-field Hydro application. • A hydro shield means it can be countered by specific elemental opponents, making Dahlia's protection more niche.

Dahlia's primary role is a Hydro Shielder, and this shield scales on his Max HP. Because this shield is on his Elemental Burst, Dahlia will only need to build Energy Recharge and HP% to maximize the effectiveness of his role.

With his main Hydro Shielder build, look to try and reach his HP breakpoint first (40,000 HP) before focusing the rest on Energy Recharge.

You can equip Noblesse Oblige to give your party ATK buffs, or if you're lacking in HP substats, equip HP-specific 2-piece artifacts.

To give your party more party buffs, equip Dahlia with the Noblesse Oblige set especially on Skirk teams, who also scale on ATK.

Alternatively, Dahlia's main requirements are only HP and Energy Recharge, so running either Emblem of Severed Fate and Tenacity of the Millelith, or a combination of HP% 2-piece set like Vourukasha's Glow works well for him.

Dahlia Wants HP or Energy Recharge Weapons

Dahlia's main preference when it comes to weapons is any weapon that grants him more Energy Recharge for Burst uptime, or HP for comfortable shielding.

Skyward Blade and Favonius Sword work as good options if you want to hit his Energy Recharge breakpoints first. As a stat stick, the Key of Khaj-Nisut and Dockhand's Assistant grants Dahlia a great amount of HP, making it his premium choices.

Shielder That Specializes in Freeze

Although Dahlia's shields can work for pretty much any team, his main team of choice is Freeze teams due to his talent that specifically prefers Cryo and Hydro characters, which provides him more Benison stacks that refreshes his Elemental Burst shield.

Alternatively, he can also be slotted within teams focused on Normal Attacks so they can utilize his ATK SPD buffs.

Dahlia's Shield Strength is maxed out when grabbing his C2, which is his most worthwhile Constellation as that increases comfort and the reliability of Dahlia's shields.

However, getting his C6 is still worthwhile if you are willing to do so as C6 grants the team bonus ATK SPD and particularly a free revive.

Dahlia Talents and How to Use

Hydro Shielder with ATK SPD Buffs

Dahlia's main role is an HP-scaling shield support focusing on his Elemental Burst. After using this Burst to deal AoE Hydro DMG, he provides his allies the Favonian Favor effect, which provides a shield to all characters and ATK SPD buffs.

Due to it being an Elemental Burst, Dahlia will prioritize Energy Recharge.

Elemental Burst

Radiant Psalter
Appeals to the divine with earnestness and song, dealing AoE Hydro DMG to nearby opponents and granting his party members Favonian Favor, summoning a Shield of Sacred Favor. The Shield of Sacred Favor's DMG absorption is based on Dahlia's Max HP, and it will absorb Hydro DMG with 250% effectiveness. Favonian Favor: While this effect is active, 1 Benison stack may be consumed to summon a new Shield of Sacred Favor when an existing Shield is broken via DMG. Dahlia can obtain Benison via the following methods: · He will gain 1 Benison stack when his own active party member hits opponents 4 times with Normal Attacks while affected by Favonian Favor. · After triggering the effect of his Passive Talent, "The Wind's Gentle Grace" (You must first unlock this Passive Talent.) Dahlia can gain a maximum of 4 Benison stacks per Favonian Favor duration.

Radiant Psalter

Refreshing Shields Through Normal Attacks or Frozen

Benison stacks, which recreates the shield when it breaks, can be refreshed through two means:

When your active character hits opponents with Normal Attacks.
When your shielded character trigger Frozen.

This means that Freeze teams that has an on-field DPS who prioritizes Normal Attacks are the teams he can synergize best.

Burst Also Increases ATK SPD

The active character affected by Dahlia's Elemental Burst will also provide an increase to ATK SPD based on Dahlia's HP.

If a nearby party member touches it, it will bounce the one who touches it high in the air. Only 1 Sacramental Shower summoned by Dahlia himself can be on the field at once. Tap: After a short prayer, summons the Sacramental Shower in front. Hold: Engages in continuous prayer, and when done, summons forth a Sacramental Shower in the designated position.

Immersive Ordinance

Time for a fun little trick! Summons the Sacramental Shower in different ways depending on whether you Tap or Hold it.

Sacramental Shower:
When opponents or nearby party members touch the Sacramental Shower, different effects will occur depending on the one who touches it: If an opponent touches the Shower, it will explode and deal AoE Hydro DMG to nearby opponents. After a short prayer, summons the Sacramental Shower in front.

Engages in continuous prayer, and when done, summons forth a Sacramental Shower in the designated position.

Hydro Trap or Jump Pad

Dahlia's Elemental Skill places a Sacramental Shower to the field which either explodes when enemies come into contact to it, or causes allies to bounce up in the air.

In combat, this will only be used to apply one instance of Hydro and regenerate Energy, but it can technically provide a small means for your character to do a Plunging Attack.

Passive Talent 1

The Wind's Gentle Grace
When characters affected by the Favonian Favor effect of the Elemental Burst Radiant Psalter trigger Frozen reactions on opponents, they will grant Dahlia 2 Benison stacks. This effect can trigger once every 8s.

Passive Talent 2

Prayer of Well-Wrought Joy
When your active party member is affected by the Favonian Favor effect of the Elemental Burst "Radiant Psalter," their ATK SPD will increase based on Dahlia's Max HP: Every 1,000 Max HP will cause an increase of 0.5%, up to a maximum of 20%.

Passive Talent 3

Pilgrimage Upon Returning Winds
During the day (06:00 – 18:00), your party members gain the Swift Stride effect: Movement SPD increased by 10%. Does not take effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss. Swift Stride does not stack.

Jean	About Jean Master Jean is probably the person I'm most familiar with in the Knights of Favonius. I guess that's because whenever there's trouble, she's always there to clean things up. We have very different approaches to problem-solving though. I never shy away from offering my suggestions, but she tends to stick to her own way of doing things.
Kaeya	About Kaeya Kaeya is my top drinking buddy. Sometimes, I need to negotiate a one-month all-you-can-drink deal at the tavern for Venti, and I couldn't do it without Kaeya's haggling skills. Klee	About Klee Ah, Klee... She ran into me once when I was in the middle of practicing my "surprise baptism" technique on a Hydro Slime. Boy, did she love that! She thought it would be a great way to send Jumpy Dumpty flying even higher. We ended up hanging out for days after that and had loads of fun seeing how high we could bounce slimes and Jumpy Dumpty... until we blew up part of the city wall. We got spotted by the guard, Lawrence, and he reported us to Master Jean. Now she's banned me from using surprise baptism on Jumpy Dumpty. Sad times...
Rosaria	About Rosaria Rosaria and I are very close friends, so I'm used to her habitual absences from church. But she was extremely closed-off back when we first met. Wouldn't open up to me about her secrets. Eventually, though, I found a way to catch her in the act every time she went missing, and that persuaded her to reach a mutually beneficial agreement with me.
Venti	About Venti Venti is a dear friend. Whenever I'm seeking to know the will of the Anemo Archon, he's always more than happy to clear things up for me.
