Underwater Combat and Exploration Guide

Head South of Elton Trench

After activating the Statue of Seven, the Boss Icon will appear on the map. You can get to that place by taking the boat on Romaritime Harbor or by using the teleport waypoint.

Enter the Underwater Tunnel and Follow the Path to the End

Dive beneath water and look for the large tunnel opening next to the Fontemer Aberrants. Simply enter and follow the tunnel path within until you reach the Emperor's lair.

Activate the Teleport Waypoint

Make sure you activate the teleport waypoint inside so you can quickly travel to the boss location. Beware of the boiling water in some parts of the cave that can lower your HP, similar to the Balethunder in Inazuma.

How to Beat the Emperor of Fire and Iron Boss

Take down the Pyro Shield from its Horns

The Emperor of Fire and Iron boss' weakpoints are its twin horns, imbued with Pyro energy. When the horns are closer to the ground, use Elemental Reactions, preferrably with Hydro, to destroy the shield and slow its attacks!

Elemental Reactions Explained

Emperor of Fire and Iron Attack Patterns

Volcano Volley

The Emperor of Fire and Iron digs its feet into the ground and launches a volley of fireballs from the volcano-like cannon on its back. This attack deals Pyro DMG in a small AoE that can easily be avoided.

Lava Claw Attack

The Emperor of Fire and Iron will coat its larger claw with lava and strike the ground, causing lava to overflow in a straight line and dealing Pyro DMG to everything in its path.

Jump and Smash

The Emperor of Fire and Iron jumps into the air and crashes to the ground in a small AoE marked by a red circle on the ground just before it lands.

Lava Floor Attack

The Emperor burrows into the ground until only its top half and horns are visible. It will charge up and release a massive lava flow, dealing Pyro DMG to the entire arena!

You can avoid this by standing at the edges of the arena and wait for the ground to return to normal.
