How to Beat Lupus Boreas

Frozen Ground

Frozen Ground.PNG

Most of Lupus Boreas' attacks will only hit anyone who is within the range of the frozen ground. This can help you check if you are going to get hit by his attacks, making the fight a lot easier.

Attack From a Distance

Long Range.PNG
Almost all of Lupus Boreas' attack patterns are melee, it is highly recommended that you use long-ranged characters to keep your distance while dealing some damage if you are having a hard time to avoid his attacks.

Preparing for Phase 2

Phase 2.PNG
When Lupus Boreas only has half of his health, he will immediately move to phase 2 and start with some charge attacks. Use this time to replenish your stamina and wait for your abilities to cooldown. This way you can immediately burst him down once he is vulnerable again to your attacks.

Using Lisa and Amber's elemental abilities can create an elemental reaction called Overloaded. This will allow you to deal additional pyro damage to maximize your damage output.

Fervent Flames

Having 2 or more Pyro element characters will activate the Fervent Flames elemental resonance. This will not only boost your overall ATK by 25%, but it will also counter cryo effects by 40% making it the perfect Elemental Resonance for this boss fight.

Elemental Reactions

Fischl and Mona's high elemental damage paired with Diluc and Keqing's powerful burst is extremely effective against Lupus Boreas. Try to use your elemental abilities efficiently as soon as they go off cooldown to guarantee elemental reactions from your attacks.

Fire, Lightning, and Water

Using fire, lightning, and water with the High Voltage elemental resonance because of the 2 lightning characters will drastically increase your damage output against Lupus Boreas.

Attack Patterns

Phase 1

Pattern 1

Lupus Boreas - Front Swipe.gif
A front swipe attack that can be easily avoided by stepping back to get out of its range.

Pattern 2

Lupus Boreas - Spin.gif
You can look at the frozen ground to check if you are within its range. This will allow you to avoid this attack and do some chip damage from a distance using your bow.

Pattern 3

Lupus Boreas - Pounce.gif
A slow yet powerful pounce attack that Lupus Boreas sometimes performs. Since the frozen ground can be seen in advance when Lupus Boreas is about to perform this attack, you can avoid this by moving out of the frozen ground.

Pattern 4

Lupus Boreas - Phase 2 Charge.gif
A fast-moving charge attack that takes a few seconds to perform. You can avoid this by moving left or right

Phase 2

Pattern 1

Lupus Boreas - Phase 2 Ground Slam.gif
A powerful ground slam followed-up by an ice attack that goes on a straight line. Running left or right will allow you to avoid this attack because of its long charge-up time.

Pattern 2

Lupus Boreas - Phase 2 Ice Shards.gif
An ice shard that will fall from the sky from time to time during phase 2. Avoid this by immediately moving to any direction when a blue circle starts to appear on the ground.
