What is Balethunder?

Balethunder occurs in Inazuma areas with high concentrations of Electro. Staying in areas with high Electro concentrations will inflict Balethunder on you and cause you to gradually lose HP.

The status effect works similarly to Sheer Cold in Dragonspine, but immediately damages you even with a shield!

How to Avoid Balethunder

Use an Electrogranum

Genshin - Use Electrogranum

To avoid taking damage from Balethunder, summon an Electrogranum from Thunder Sakura Boughs! As long as you're with an Electrogranum, you won't lose HP. Keep track of the time though, because Electrograna disappear after a while!

Use Nearby Thunderwood

Genshin - Thunderwood Use

Thunderwood also wards off Balethunder damage. If you can't get any Electrograna, you should approach the Thunderwood!

Narukami Island: Cleansing Ritual Quest

Genshin - Balethunder - Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual

Balethunder is present in some areas during the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual World Quest in Narukami Island. You will often need to solve the Torii puzzles while Balethunder is active, so be sure to get Electrogranas from time to time.

Balethunder will disappear in Mt. Yougou after completing the questline, but the underground area off the north-east coast of Narukami Island will still have Balethunder.

Kannazuka: Mikage Furnace

The Mikage Furnace in Tatarasuna, Kannazuka has affected the surrounding area with Balethunder. To get rid of the Balethunder in this area, you will need to complete the Tatara Tales World Quest chain.

Yashiori Island: Musoujin Gorge

The Balethunder in Musoujin Gorge in Yashiori Island is said to be the result of the Electro Archon slashing the almighty Orobashi with the Musou no Hitotachi.

As a result, the area beneath the Gorge including the waters are infested with residual Electro energy, making it especially difficult to explore. Balethunder cannot be removed in this area, as such, you need to get Electrogranas in time.

Balethunder covers majority of the area in Seirai Island. Because of this, it is recommended to finish the Seirai Stormchasers World Quest first before exploring. After completing each quests, the Balethunder will slowly recede.
