Genshin Impact's Version 5.0 was scheduled to release on August 28, 2024, featuring the opening of the Natlan Region, and Mualani, Kinich and Kachina's releases. See the Version 5.0 speculated release date, countdown, character teasers, and details here in this guide!

Genshin Impact Version 5.0 was released on August 28, 2024, following the usual six-week release pattern after 4.8.
Keep in mind, as with previous version updates, a server maintenance that usually takes up to 6-7 hours from the server reset takes place before Travelers can play Version 5.0!

Immediately following Phase 1, the Version 5.0 5-star characters for Phase 2 are Kinich's release, and Raiden Shogun's banner rerun. As with the previous banners, they are available all throughout Phase 2, from September 17, 2024, until October 18, 2024.

Kinich, Mualani, and Kachina are slated to release in Version 5.0, as announced in the recent Version 5.0 Livestream!
5.0 Livestream Summary and Dates
More of Natlan's previews were shown during the Version 5.0 Livestream, showcasing the landscape, as well as the flora and fauna of the Nation of Pyro. Furthermore, the clans of Natlan, alongside their corresponding Saurians were shown, as well as the proverbial competition amongst warriors, the Pilgrimage.
Notably, the region seems to border the Sumeru's Desert, with a shadow of a cliff resembling the Girdle of the Sands map from Version 3.6!
Natlan Release Date and Nation Guide
Nightsoul's Blessing is a Natlan-exclusive mechanic that combines overworld elements and the nation's lore into one. Lore-wise, Nightsoul's Blessing is characterized by an aura encasing the character, which effectively strengthens their combat prowess. Only Natlan characters can obtain the Nightsoul's Blessing.
There are six tribes in Natlan, each represented by a Saurian that embodies that tribe's livelihood, and possibly the terrain where the tribe is located. From the 5.0 Livestream, only three of the six tribes were named: Childred of Echoes (Tepetlisaurus), People of the Spring (Koholasaurus), and Scions of the Canopy (Yumkasaurus).
Another unique feature of Natlan is the Tribe Reputation System, since the nation isn't unified under a single city like other nations. This means that each Tribe has different reputation requirements, and most notably Tribe Chronicles, which refer to Story Quests and other quests paraded by each Tribe.
What's interesting with Tribe Chronicles is that the character whose Story Quest is associated to it can get obtain enough ascension materials that can boost them up to Level 60 upon completing the quest!

Alongside the new characters, comes the new 5-star weapons expected to be Mualani and Kinich's best-in-slot weapons. Surf's Up is the newest 5-star Catalyst, while Fang of the Mountain King is the newest 5-star Claymore. Each weapon is slated to be available on the release phases of their respective characters!
As with the previous major updates, 5 new forgeable weapons make their debut in Version 5.0 namely, Chain Breaker, Ring of Yaxche, Earth Shaker, Footpring of the Rainbow, and Flute of Ezpitzal! Travelers can also get three of these forgeable weapons from the Off We Go to the Nation of Natlan web event starting August 22!

Travelers are also given the chance to obtain the free, event-exclusive 4-star catalyst, The Ash-Graven Drinking Horn from the 5.0 event, Traces of Artistry!

Two new artifact sets. namely, Obsidian Codex and Scroll of the Hero Cinder City, will be available once Version 5.0 hits the live servers. These two sets are likely to be one of the best options for the new Natlan characters, but we'll only know for sure once official info is available. So, stay tuned!
The Artifact Salvage System is a new addition to the Artifact System which enables Travelers to transmute their extra pieces into Artifact EXP materials. This means it's now easier to level-up good Artifact pieces for characters that you're developing.
In addition, Sanctifying Elixir will also be introduced in Version 5.0, which lets Travelers pre-select an artifact's main and secondary stat. This is an extremely revolutionary QoL update that takes away the gruelsome task of grinding for good artifact pieces!

Aside from their banner releases, Mualani and Kinich also has their own Story Quests to be rolled out the same time as their release phases. Mualani's Story Quest Chapter is likely available on Phase 1, while Kinich's on Phase 2.

The first two acts of the Chapter 5 of Archon Quests, Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn for Act 1, and Black Stone Under a White Stone for Act 2, will be available sometime after Version 5.0.
As revealed in the Livestream, players have the option to Quick Start playing Chapter 6 after completing the Liyue Archon Quests, and reaching AR28!

Travelers can get the newest Geo 4-star character Kachina by playing Flowers Resplendent on the Stone Under a White Stone Archon Quest! Moreover, travelers will get an extra 500 Primogems by completing Archon Quests moving forward.

New bosses and sets of enemies can be encountered once 5.0 becomes live! Travelers get to meet the two new Saurian bosses, the Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King, and the Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant, as shown in the 5.0 Livestream!
As with the previous anniversary, players will get the rewards for the 2024 Anniversary of Genshin Impact directly from the in-game mail starting September 28, 2024. This is in addition to the cumulative log-in rewards to start on the same date!
2024 Fourth Anniversary Date and Rewards
The newest, and possibly the most exciting news about the 2024 Anniversary is the A Quest to Kindle Ancient Flames Event, where travelers can get a free 5-star standard character of their choice! This free 5-star event is scheduled to be permanent each year after 5.0!
Free 5-Star Character Anniversary Reward
Capturing Brilliance is the newest wish-event update slated for 5.0 onward, which increases the odd of getting the featured 5-star banner from their corresponding limited banners!
Also, Epitome Invocation, the weapon banner, gets a major update where the Fate Points will be decreased from 2 > 1, which effectively downsizes the required number of pulls for a guaranteed pull!

| Regional Specialty Tracking | Once Version 5.0 hits the live servers, the Regional Specialty Tracking function will be added to the game to track local specialties for leveling up characters. Clicking the Go to Collect button directly from the level up screen enables blue circles on the map, marking specialties you haven't collected yet! |
| Mystic Offering Update | 8 additional Artifact Sets will also be included in the Mystic Offering function of the Crafting Bench to give Travelers more sources of Artifact pieces! |

| Display and Interface Optimizations | In Version 5.0, both the Condensed Resin Crafting and Weapon Enhancement interfaces will have their own respective updates to enhance player experience. The Condensed Resin menu now displays the current number of Condensed Resins you have, and will auto-select the max amount you can craft! Weapon Enhancement, on the other hand, now displays the excess EXP while enhancing weapons! |
| Profile Display Page Updates | The Profile Card in Version 5.0 displays an increased amount of showcased Characters, as well as new information such as the number of characters at max Friendship Level, and the number of stars obtained from Abyss Floor 9-12. Character Constellation for each showcased characters can be toggled to be displayed as well! |
