• HP conversion to ATK contributes a huge amount of boost to her already good scaling and Vaporize potential. • Monstrous DPS against boss-type enemies or in single target situations. • Elemental Burst enables her to be self-sufficient especially with her high-risk, high-reward playstyle. • Provides CRIT Rate for other party members.
Weaknesses
• High damage potential requires her to have low HP, making her best performances incredibly risky without a shielder, healer, or her Elemental Burst. • Often struggles against wild groups of enemies as she lacks AoE attacks outside of Elemental Burst or Xianyun teams. • Fast application of the Pyro element reduces her best team comp choices to make Vaporize more consistent for her, often necessitating either Xingqiu or Yelan. • Unless you have her C1, limited stamina can dampen her performance and smoothness for Charged Attacks spam playstyle.

This Hu Tao build increases Vaporize and Melt DMG thanks to The Crimson Witch of Flames. Despite it being best artifact set for Hu Tao, it is very tedious to get since you will have to deal with getting Lavawalker artifacts in the Hidden Palace of Zhou domain.

If you want a viable artifact set that's worth spending resin on, you can get the Shimenawa's Reminiscence set in the Momiji-Dyed Court. Even if you don't get the right artifact set, you will still get the Emblem of Severed Fate which is great for a lot of Sub-DPS characters.

Hu Tao will still be able to deal a lot of DMG in this build thanks to the Normal and Charged Attack buff, but do note that this set will make you lose energy after using your Elemental Skill, so find some Energy Recharge substats in your artifacts to make up for it.

For teams that have Furina and Xianyun, a third build variant involving the use of Marechaussee Hunter is also recommended. Plunging Attacks with Vaporize will be her main source of damage, so you may still run a second Hydro applicator like Yelan.

While Marechaussee Hunter is recommended for such teams, you can still get by with Shimenawa's Reminiscence or Crimson Witch of Flames if you already have good stats on them.

Hu Tao's current best team utilizes the buffs provided by Furina, Yelan, and Xianyun, while offering a significant playstyle change involving Plunging Attacks. Note that you'll have to do a Normal Attack before a Plunging Attack to proc Yelan's coordinated attacks.

Hu Tao's 50% HP mechanic is underutilized in this team comp due to Xianyun's strong healing, but their buffs are more than enough to make up for it. This ensures however that her survivability won't be a big issue.

Normal Attack

Normal Attack: Secret Spear of Wangsheng
Performs up to 6 consecutive spear strikes. Charge Attack Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to opponents along the way. Plunge Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE damage upon impact.

Elemental Skill

Guide to Afterlife

Only an unwavering flame can cleanse the impurities of this world. Hu Tao consumes a set portion of her HP to knock the surrounding enemies back and enter the Paramita Papilio state. Paramita Papilio State: ・Increases Hu Tao’s ATK based on her Max HP at the time of entering this state. ATK Bonus gained this way cannot exceed 400% of Hu Tao’s Base ATK. ・Converts attack DMG to Pyro DMG, which cannot be overridden by any other elemental infusion. Increases Hu Tao’s resistance to interruption. Paramita Papilio ends when its duration is over, or when Hu Tao has left the battlefield or fallen. In the Paramita Papilio state, Hu Tao’s Charged Attacks apply the Blood Blossom effect to enemies it hits. Blood Blossom Effect: Enemies affected by Blood Blossom will take Pyro DMG every 4s. This DMG is considered Elemental Skill DMG. Each enemy can be affected by only one Blood Blossom effect at a time, and its duration may only be refreshed by Hu Tao herself.

Elemental Skill Strengthens DMG

Hu Tao's Elemental Skill allows her to sacrifice a certain amount of HP to infuse her weapon with the Pyro element. In addition to converting all damage to Pyro DMG, Hu Tao also receives an ATK boost.

Use with caution, as overuse of Hu Tao's Elemental Skill might leave you with too little HP!

Works Well with Off-Field Supports

Using characters with Elemental Skills or Elemental Bursts that stay on the field for a long time and then switching to Hu Tao will let you trigger elemental reactions easily and increase DMG output!

Elemental Burst

Spirit Soother

Commands a blazing spirit to attack, dealing Pyro DMG in a large AoE. Upon striking the enemy, regenerates a percentage of Hu Tao's Max HP. This effect can be triggered up to 5 times, based on the number of enemies hit. If Hu Tao's HP is below or equal to 50% when the enemy is hit, both the DMG and HP Regeneration are increased. Flavor Text: Supernatural activity by those who have already left this world is a source of great anxiety for the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. In such cases, cremation always lets Hu Tao find peace of mind. The more anxious she feels, the stronger the flames.

Heal with Hu Tao's Elemental Burst

Hu Tao's Elemental Burst allows her to swing around a fire spirit, dealing huge Pyro DMG in a wide area and healing herself. If Hu Tao has less than 50% HP, the DMG and healing are increased!

Use this to manage Hu Tao's HP loss!

Since Hu Tao's Elemental Skill sacrifices your health, you will need to keep an eye on Hu Tao's health! Her Elemental Burst balances it out by dealing damage and healing Hu Tao at the same time.

Baizhu	Different Approach: We have some differences in ideology, that's all. I don't harbor any ill-will toward Director Hu. If anything, I think she's more wary of me. Exhausting Encounters: Baizhu: If possible, I sincerely wish that Director Hu would be more sensible about her business practices. Changsheng: Oh, so you haven't forgotten about the time when she was disseminating flyers right outside of Bubu Pharmacy. Baizhu: I just wish that she wouldn't be so concerned about Qiqi whenever she has nothing better to do. Changsheng: Sounds like you have something against her... Baizhu: It's not that I take issue with Director Hu... It's just that every time she kidnaps Qiqi, I have to go all the way to the Ministry of Civil Affairs to get someone to sort it all out. It's... quite exhausting.
Chongyun	The Wangsheng Funeral Parlor is a reputable institution that acts with integrity. But whenever I see that cheeky smile that says, "It's nothing you exorcists need to worry about," it just makes my blood boil... Whoa, deep breaths, Chongyun. Stay calm.
