Katarina Story and Lore

Sent to The Chasm

Katarina is most likely part of the Fatui Ninth Company that the Traveler encounters during the A Company Vanishing Into the Deep world quest. Both Katarina and Anton, the commander of the Ninth Company, talk about not receiving supplies from The Surface in quite some time. They've been in The Chasm for so long without supplies or news, that Katarina doesn't even know who the Traveler is.

Finding Her Younger Brother

The team that Katarina was with was attacked and they were forced to retreat while Nikolay, Katarina's brother was forced to stay back and hold them off. Katarina goes back for him, but ends up getting lost in the process.

Lost in a Foreign Land

The Traveler encounters Katarina, an Electro Cicin mage while exploring The Chasm. They attack each other and after Katarina is defeated she asks the Traveler why they're attacking her. While the Traveler is asking her what's she and the Fatui are doing in the Chasm, they are attacked by Floating Fungi.

After defeating the Floating Fungi, Katarina invites the Traveler back to her hideout where she explains what she's doing there. She asks the Traveler to help her find one of her team members, Nikolay, who she's been looking for and the reason she got lost so deep in The Chasm.
