Lava Dragon Statue Location

Located Underground in Atocpan

The Lava Dragon Statue can be found in Atocpan, along the entrance of it and southwest from the Stadium of the Sacred Flame.

Once there, simply follow the path ahead of you until you come across a deep chasm. Descend it and break the rocks by either using Varesa or Iansan, or indwelling a Tatankasaurus.

How to Get to The Lava Dragon Statue

1. Teleport Southwest of the Stadium
2. Follow the Path Ahead
3. Drop Down into the Small Chasm
4. Indwell a Tatankasaurus and Break the Rock
5. Enter the Cave

Teleport Southwest of the Stadium

The best path to getting to the Lava Dragon Statue's Lair is by teleporting to the waypoint southwest of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. This is located just at the entrance of the Atocpan region.

Follow the Path Ahead

Follow the winding road just in front of you until you reach a small but deep chasm.

Drop Down into the Small Chasm

Once at the aforementioned chasm, simply make your way down carefully. It's pretty deep so better to just glide down.

Indwell a Tatankasaurus and Break the Rocks

Once at the bottom of the chasm, you can indwell the Tatankasaurus provided, or use either Varesa or Iansan if you have them to smash through the hardened Phlogiston blocking your path.

Enter the Cave

After removing all obstacles, simply enter the cave and follow the path, remembering to activate the Teleport Waypoint inside for a shorter return trip!

The Lava Dragon statue requires a mixture of Pyro along with Cryo or Hydro in order to effectively weaken it. Pyro enables you to activate the Lava Dragon statue and change its form, while Hydro and Cryo revert it to its original form.

Continuously Deal Pyro DMG to Overburn it

Continuously dealing pyro damage to the Lava Dragon Statue while in its second form will stun it for an extended period of time, giving you more window to deal damage.

For this to happen, first deal Pyro to cause it to enter the Molten Dragon Form, and then continue dealing Pyro to refill the gauge; avoid dealing Cryo or Hydro damage because it will deplete the gauge meter.

Cool It Down When It's in Its Lava Form

Another way to weaken the boss if you lack pyro dps is to cool it down when it transforms into its Molten Dragon Form.

In order to do this, have the Lava Dragon Statue transform into its second form by dealing Pyro DMG, then deal Hydro or Cryo damage to cool it down and make it vulnerable for a short period of time.

Team Comp Possibilities

Against the Lava Dragon Statue, having a team consisting of Pyro, and Cryo or Hydro units is your best bet when wanting to wear down the Statue using its Overburn mechanic.

However, it is more beneficial to have your Main DPS be Cryo, Hydro, or even Anemo against it as Pyro DPS units are only there to enable its special state.

Anemo Team Versatility

With Chasca leading the charge, you can practically use any and all elements using her Elemental Skill and Swirl them around, provided that these elements are brought about by your party members.

Matching her up with Mavuika and Citlali will make for additional off-field elemental DMG on top of her Shadowhunt Shells. With Furina in the party, she can either offer off-field DMG or healing, as well as enable Chasca to use Hydro.

Hits All Necessary Elements

With Mavuika providing off-field Pyro DMG via her Elemental Skill, plus providing Chasca with Pyro shells, you will be able to force the Lava Dragon Statue into the Overburn state swiftly.

Once it's in the Overburn state, both Citlali and Furina will be able to cool it down using their own respective skills, or by providing Chasca with Cryo and Hydro shells!
