Who is Dvorak?

Dvorak is a Fontaine Musician and organizer of the Iridescence Tour who came to Liyue to find some clues about the "The Lady Overlooking the Lake". It is a local legend in Fontaine about his ancestor being saved by a mysterious lady with an almost divine aura from drowning.

He ends up finding out who the lady is and organizing the Iridescence Tour: Lantern Rite Grand Concert!

Dvorak's Story and Lore

Musician from Fontaine

Dvorak or Mr. Dvorak, as referred to him by many characters in the game, is a Fontaine Musician. He carries with him a guitar-like instrument on his back and can be seen wearing the typical clothing of the people of Fontaine, including the top hat!

He is also one of the main organizers of the Iridescence Tour, one of the biggest music festivals in Fontaine. They are looking to expand to hold festivals in every nation.

Came to Liyue for Personal Reasons

Dvorak came to Liyue not to spread the Iridescence Tour, but instead to find the "Lady" who saved his ancestor from drowning.

As the story goes, his ancestor was traveling when he happened to slip on a lake. As he was in the water, his ancestor heard the most "wondrous" music, it was so wonderful that he didn't realize that he was saved from drowning by a lady.

A lady, who possessed an almost divine aura. However, before he could thank her, she left as soon as she saw that he was alright. He tried to chase after her, but it seemed like he could not catch up, so he ended up bowing to the retreating figure.

Story Becomes a Local Legend in Fontaine

Dvorak's ancestor took up an instrument to spread the story far and wide through song. Through various embellishments and retelling, the story became a local legend in Fontaine. It now went by the name of "The Lady Overlooking the Lake".

The legend even evolved to the point that if someone plays a tune by a lake, the lady would play with them while hiding.

In Search of the Truth

Dvorak became so fixated on the story that he wanted to learn the truth about it. He went to Mondstadt because he heard that the Anemo Archon learned that he became the patron god of music.

He prayed in the Mondstadt Cathedral and as soon as he set foot outside the front gate, he saw a sign from the Anemo Archon. He saw a cluster of leaves blown by the wind toward the far west in Stone Gate.

Meets Yaoyao and the Traveler

Dvorak himself almost drowned as he was admiring the views of Liyue. He was later saved by Yaoyao and met the Traveler, who also came to his rescue.

During the course of their conversation, he told them the reason he was there and Yaoyao suggested they head to the Liyue Qixing, so they can help him.

Organizing the Iridescence Tour

As they enter the bustling city of Liyue, they encounter Xinyan. She, along with the rest of the group, encouraged him to hold the Iridescence Tour in Liyue. They head to the Yujing Terrace to talk to the Qixing and met Madame Ping, who also approved of the music festival.

They meet up with Ganyu who created the proposal with Dvorak for the Iridescence Tour. After a few hours, the proposal is successful, and they can hold the Iridescence Tour as the final performance of the night!

Learning the Truth

It was later revealed in the follow-up quest, The Exquisite Night Chimes Part 2, that the lady Dvorak was looking for was Madame Ping all along. The song that his ancestor heard was a song she wrote in dedication to her late dear friend, Guizhong.

Conducts an Orchestra in the Tour

Dvorak later learned that it was Madame Ping who saved his ancestor and went to thank her after the Iridescence Tour Concert. He conducted during the music festival, and he later heard the sound that his ancestor heard long ago.

Continued Collaboration with the Qixing

Ninguang has invited Dvorak for some long-term collaboration plans with Liyue Qixing. This means the Iridescence Concert might be featured once again in Liyue!

Featured in the Lantern Rite 2023 Quests

Dvorak was featured in the Lantern Rite 2023 Event during the first two event quests! After completing all the event quests, he will be standing near the Paper Theater gameplay area, and you can still talk to him for the duration of the event.
